My green monster arrived
Now, the CA is trying to sell me a paint protection using seleant. Interior and exterior for $1399. No it's not worth it at all. I never trust any detailing done at the dealer. If you want, find a local shop you trust and get the car ceramic coated.

Agreed, you can even do it yourself if you are comfortable at detailing. If not a professional detailer will yield better results for the money

Run away from that offer!
For likely only a little bit more, you could have the exterior ceramic coated by a professional detailer (after paint correction etc. - you'd be surprised how much correction some of these cars need, even straight from the car transport truck), and the interior ceramic coated as well. If you want to push that number a bit higher, you could have the front end done with PPF before the ceramic. The "sealants" typically offered by the dealerships are a 3-6 month product, perhaps 6-12 months at best. Basically a glorified wax. |
