There are far better tires than both Michelin and Pirelli for our cars. I for one would not care about Michelin one bit. They have very soft sidewalls and this causes them to bubble more frequently if you have rough roads.

I've found the driving dynamics with the OEM Michelin Pilot Sports 4S* are the best possible with the car. |

While it is indeed an excellent tire, no doubt about it, it is one or two categories below what you can have. Look into tires with thread wear of 200. Something like the Yokohama Advan AO52, Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS, Hankook Ventus RS-4R and even Toyo Proxes 666 Yes, they will wear faster, but they will offer far more grip and consistency at the limit. You also won't have to deal with the super soft Michelin sidewalls which tend to bubble a lot and have a higher potential to roll over (not the car, the tire thread). EDIT: you won't be able to do as much burnouts with them

Depends on the tire thread depth and which brand you get. They are DOT approved tires. I would say once you get below 3/32nds of thread depth, you should be careful.

True. Would take the Pirellis over the Michelins any day. Most recent tests have the Pirelli outperforming the Michelins and the Pirellis tend to be the OEM tire on much more higher end cars. That Michelin marketing though...

“Tire lottery” is blown out of proportion. But I hope everyone keeps needlessly clamoring for Michelins because that’ll just make it easier for me to get Pirelli takeoffs for dirt cheap when I need new tires.

Been lurking some of the “week x” build threads and it seems like a lot of people are getting the Michelins again.

It looks like a lot of the new deliveries that I'm seeing are getting Pirelli tires so I thought that I'd bump this to see what everyone is getting in the past month.
