I mean should you be at the lights v M3P you know it aint happenin unless M3P is asleep at the wheel. Yes/No???

This vid kinda proved that didnt it?

As someone who owns both an M2C and a Tesla M3P I can say from experience these types of cars beat each other in different ways. Reality is, unless you're a douche bag, you aren't going to sit at the lights revving your engine in launch control. In the 3 years I owned an M2 and then the 2 years I owned an M2C I've collectively used launch control about 4-5 times. It's useless in the real world. On the streets, the Tesla will be quicker. And, you can drive like an idiot all day and not care about how much it's costing you. It's instant, it isn't anti-social etc. But, the M3 will be more emotional, arguably more fun in the long run and better on the drag strip and track.

Learn to find joy in what you have but also joy in that someone else can love a different experience.

Personally, I think each of these cars are fantastic in their own right and anyone should be happy to own any of them.
Like a 5 year old? Well, perhaps it's because these silly drag race videos are mainly watched by that age group. Grown men could care less.

So so fed up with 0-60. It has no bearing in the real world where traffic and hidden cops exist.

0-60 in 3.5 vs 3.8, who the F cares?

Or maybe because the Tesla driver is heavier than M3 driver 😂

I have the M3 xdrive and model 3 performance
Love them both.
Prefer the Tesla as a daily but for pure fun it can't compete with the M3.

Can we have the best of both worlds? Model Y Performance for wifey, incoming G80 for myself.

The Model Y P and Tesla’s in general are great daily drivers. Particularly at this moment.

You know, yesterday I had four cars get salty with me on the road. All four cars? They were Teslas.

One guy got pissed because I split the lane and sat up in front. He later zipped past me just to cut me off.

So next red light I slowly made my way while staring at him up the middle and then sat in front of his car on my bike again.

Teslas. They're quickly becoming the Prius drivers.

I know what the excuses would from this forum if the m3 lost. "drag racing doesn't matter, I didn't buy this car to drag race, wait until that Tesla has to go around a corner"

But as it turned out the m3 won, so apparently drag racing does matter.

I mean, you're not entirely wrong, but isn't 0-60 the only thing you can come close to legally doing? Most M cars don't really flex until over 65.

You are right ... but it depends on what you see as "everyday street scenario"
My typical scenario (living in germany) is obviously different. I never did a launch control start with my F82. I would feel sorry for the HW/clutch. But I'm regularly on the Autobahn doing 250km/h+ runs. As long as we don't have a general speed limit here, it still makes sense to own fast cars.

And my everyday experience is: There is NO Tesla (M3P or SP100D), which ever wanted to do a high speed run with me. I always see them cruising with max. 130km/h at the right lanes ... which is so weird with their high powered performance/100D models! This has several reasons:
1. Battery depletion goes up like crazy, if they even go for 160km/h+ for a longer time. At 250km/h it is just insane, how their range collapses.
2. Charger network isn't that dense here! So none of the TESLA drivers here even dares to try to run with me, because the risk of stranding somewhere is high.
3. They maybe know it already: Past 200km/h they don't have any chance against a high powered ICE - even if the brutal drop in range would be bearable to them.

So - yes: Whether a high performance BEV or rather a high performance ICE makes more sense, obviously depends on "everyday street scenario". As long as germany didn't introduce a general speed limit (there are always actvities to do this!) ... my "everyday street scenario" favors high powered ICEs.

I suppose I just mean those sub speed limit bursts...when some dude rolls up alongside and gives you the eye at the lights or an adhoc rolling race on normal public roads....the 'on the fly' situations you might find yourself in whilst coming back from the hardware store. That kinda thing.

Not your motorway high speed stuff. We saw in the video and have seen in other vids that ICE cars usually do the business beyond 100mph.

That hasn't been my experience. Usually pull 3-4 car lengths pretty quickly.

Obviously the Audi is not going to win in this situation. It is by far the sexiest of the 3. My opinion. Plus it not going to be like a Mustang or M cars where you see them everywhere!!! It's going to be super rare to see them. If I can get my Z06, I may grab one of those sick wagons. A few mods and it will be right there with those other cars anyway. RS-6 lowered, aftermarket wheels with bolt-ons tune and E-85. Dope!!!

M3 xDrive is a beast. The G80 AWD gives you practically everything you could ever want out of a performance sedan.

“It’s not meant for 0-60” is last-gen F8x thinking. This M3 can do it all now.

This is one of the many reasons when Audi tried to lure me into an RS5 when the RS3 fell through in Canada, I politely told them no thanks. The car looks good, but its soooo underwhelming performance wise. So glad I ended up with the M3C. Audi really has fallen FAR behind now that BMW is offering xDrive in most of their M models. It was one of the biggest reasons I opted not to get a BMW before, because winters here suck, and are 6 months long.
