RS6 is a beast, but I find it is almost over the top in styling. The rear is overdone.
I also think M3/4 of the past two generations have gotten too cartoonish and look like Nissan GTR wannabes in the styling department. It says something about the factory styling when aftermarket aero kits make the car look more conservative. 🙂 The G81 Touring is aggressive still, but wagon body wears it well, in my opinion, of course. My opinion is also that sedans are the most boring automotive form with coupe being the best, followed by wagon and hatch. I also favour smaller cars. For example, I would take RS4 Avant over RS6, M2 over M4 etc. |

I’m waiting to see if they come to their senses and offer in the USA. Perfect dad car. I would take an xDrive comp version. Great for carrying mountain bike crap.
I love the idea of a track capable wagon. So cool. The X3M is nonsense- the center of gravity is too high and it’s heavy. I can’t fathom they sell more X4M or M8 than they would of this car. |

If you're in the US, have ever purchased an X3 instead of a 335 touring…and you wonder for what reason they won't bring this to US…look in the fooking mirror

The same thing can be said for Diesel vehicles. Mercedes Benz scared Americans off with their rattle clank 300D. But the fuel mileage always had me looking for a diesel, as a commuter, but they don't offer many options here. BMW brought a few diesels to the us market in recent years, but they were never advertised, so, no one knew they existed, namely me.

I'm dangerously considering modifying my G80 and turning it into a G81 in a few years.
While there's an insane appeal to an estate M3, not having a manual transmission would be a huge deal breaker. This is besides the fact that the G81 simply isn't coming to the USA. Time spent wishing is time wasted, so I think I'd rather spend the time thinking about how to tackle a project like this. There's a lad in the U.K. that turned his individual F80 into an F81, and I think I'll eventually do the same. Maybe he'll have some insight for me While it'll be an endgame car, it's something I'll do after I obtain my weekend/track toy in a few years. Time to start planning I'm afraid the subsequent M3's may not come with a manual, so this might be worth doing for the last M car I buy with a 6MT.
