My wife's car is matte. It's not easy but not super hard either. You will never take it to an automatic car wash. It's hand wash only with special soap for the life of the car. You also have to make it very clear to the dealership not to wash your car. Bugs, bird poop etc must be removed immediately. You cannot touch up either. If it's a scratch it's an entire respray of the panel. Ceramic coating at min is recommended or PPF.

Yeah, Im not sure, then. Maybe someone that ordered a manual with the Shadowline trim, can tell us if the car came with black badges from the factory when the Extended Shadowline Trim (S07M9) is selected. Since it has black tips, maybe it does have the shadowline, and it doesn't come with black badges, no matter what?
The badge is not included in the shadowline add on. It is independent as OP said

And special ceramic made for matte paint. This is supposed to be the best matte ceramic coating.

Bird droppings don't have to be removed immediately. My Frozen blue M3CS that I've had for 3 years gets shitted on all the time. In the beginning I use to wipe it off ASAP until one day I was at work and a seagull took the biggest dump on it. Man that dump was so huge I thought that shit was from a pterodactyl. I thought I would ruin the paint and it didn't. It sat there for a few hours as well. Now little droppings I get daily don't do anything to the paint.

My FDG paint seems very resilient to stains. I agree it requires a good wash routine but I've always done this so apart from a change of products it's straight forward. One thing I would say is never try to wipe anything from the surface unless your washing it. I have a very light scratch on the top ledge of the rear bumper below the tailgate where I wiped some water that had dripped from behind the number plate. This was a couple of hours after washing it and it was windy so some grit or road salt must have blown onto it. I know this applies to all paints but with frozen I can't rub it out with compound.
On the plus side swirl marks are a thing of the past, with a dark car that's always been a pita for me.

Off topic. But is this why frozen black is not available anymore? FDG is the replacement?

Thats a great spec. I love the frozen colors. I was tempted to go with this but worried about what happens if the car ever gets damaged lol

Thanks for the reply. Wow, maybe a matte wrap might be better. Any idea if PPF (clear, non matte) will make the matte paint look worse

Matte PPF but if you are OCD you'll want the entire car done since the color/texture will be slightly off if you only do part of it.
