Side vent clip fell inside the body

When I was trying to remove the side vents, one of the clips (on both sides) fell inside the body of the car. Is there a way to remove it without having to disassemble major parts?

Probably can get to it if you remove the fender liner.

I was thinking the same but wanna be sure before spending the time and effort.

Turn the wheel so you can access the screws and just pull back that part of the liner to see whats behind.

Same happened to me. Did you get it out?? Anyone have access to service catalogue to get the part # for the clips…? Thx!!

No, I just left them in there for now. Mine broke from the black plastic piece which is one piece together with the vent. I think you are talking about the white clips though.

Yup, one of the white clips popped out and went into the fender. The “vent” is being held in place with 2 just fine but I figure it’s easy enough to pull it off and get a 3rd clip on there

I know IND has the white clips. You can get in touch with them.

Did anyone find replacement clips? The same thing happened to me. These seem like one time use clips as none of them fit right. I called bmw and they said it looks like you have to order the whole vent to get them. That’s crazy

If you can take a photo close to right above the clip, and take some measurements for me I can 3d print these.

The good news is a replacement vent comes with all of them, and is only ~$30-40. It is the on BMW part that I found NOT to be priced out of this world.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I lost my clips inside the fender as well and cannot find these clips. Just went to the dealer and they want $87 just for one side vent cover... just so I can get those clips.

Should only be about $30-40 for each. Search online for part 51138074925

When i was installing my carbon fiber vents and had to adjust them a few times, the clips fell down inside. If you take the plastic cover underneath the car, the clip will be there.

I have 5 of the white clips when I replaced the stock vents with MP carbon fiber vents. If anyone wants them, I’ll mail you the 5 clips I have. If you only need a couple, let me so hopefully this can help a couple guys. Just PM me your address.

A few people reached out and took the clips. As someone mentioned, the full side vents (part and clips) are available a lot of places for around $30-$35. Here are the part numbers:
