1/11 - Order in dealer bank (47)

3/11 - At port
You were way ahead of almost everyone, in terms of order to production. Sitting at port for 3 weeks in Bremerhaven isn’t atypical over the past year. Mine sat there for about 3 weeks last fall.

The worse part was the almost-month at port on this side of the ocean. Who needs an audio module anyway?!

I was definitely at the right place at the right time. Hope you get your allocation soon and looking forward to your individual build!

True, I am just hoping to take delivery before my rate lock expires. On the other side, few vehicles built in the same week have already landed in the US. BMW is not following first in first out which is pissing off customers big time.

I didnt spec my vehicle with certain options and dont have any stop sale as of now. I might still have a long wait once the vehicle lands in US as i am opting for PCD.

There have been at least a few reports of dealers getting BMW to honor rate locks long after the period expired, as a gesture of goodwill. When the delay was not the customer’s fault. Granted those stories that I’ve seen, were before some of the 2022 rate hikes. But there’s at least some chance that the dealer will be able to honor a technically-expired rate. Good luck!

I can tell you that in the end, the wait will be well worth it!

I have not yet discussed the extension with my dealer and hoping not to go through that process. I have approvals from my CU & BMWfs and hoping to go through one of them.

Thank you, I have been eyeing a G80 for more than a year and its good to hear these comments from fellow members which helps people who are waiting or going through the process.

Congrats and best wishes for a smooth journey! I would say you got very lucky with your dates and the logistics are on your side. I deposited 1/27 (dealer had an open allocation), order accepted on 1/28, 4 days after yours. Scheduled for production on 2/17, 8 days after yours. But then the war hit and I am now week 23.

Thank you, i was definitely lucky and dont have anything to complain. Good luck with yours and hope you make some progress soon.

Because of all the delays, i was a little conservative on the options in my build. If we weren't in these crazy times, i would have opted for an individual exterior color for sure. People from the same build week have already take delivery of the vehicle on the west coast last week, so i wasnt too lucky as well.

It is all relative, right? I see your journey as closer to the side of luck than unlucky, based upon the overall experiences posted on the forum.

2/07 - Order accepted, scheduled for CW10 (111)
