Exclamation FIRST LOOK: OEM G8X M Performance HAS Kit!!

They finally exist. I'm going to take a shot at the fact that I'm probably one of the first people to have them, on hand, in the US, for sure.

Post Edit, based on clarified information:

From previous knowledge of M Performance Suspension Systems.

- It is made by KW based on BMW M Performance spec.
- No coding required on the EDC. Coding is to re-calibrate the headlight aim, which can be done manually.
- Drop wise, not as much as KW HAS or MSS based on installs being completed on previous generation cars.

I will post another update when I get the kit installed, as to how low the actual kit goes. Comparing the thread area on the KW HAS spring collars to the thread count, on this M Performance Kit, you can tell the M Kit has far less threaded area, which would allow for less height adjustability. So, if you are looking for the tucked, hellaflush look, this isn't going to be your kit.

M Performance HAS height adjustability: 5mm-20mm (BMWs recommended drop is 10mm)

KW HAS is 10mm-30mm

Post updated with the alignment spec sheet, immediately preceding spring install. There will be a final alignment check after I've determined the car has fully settled.

Original fender to bottom lip of rims, front and rear were 657mm front 657mm rear. Front and rear drop, maxed out in the rear at 641mm (unsettled) front can still be dropped more. But 641mm was the lowered measurement.

Update 27 Jan 2023: North Raleigh Performance posted an excellent installation video, for those who want to see exactly what comes with the kit, and what everything is used for. Check @ 11:00 of the video for the use of tool part# 31335A4A186. (this tool only applies to xDrive vehicles.)

I ordered them from Germany, and they were a little sketchy. When I ordered, they were like $1,107. Then I paid, and 2 days later they were listed for $980, and wouldn't refund me without canceling the order. 2 days later, they were like $1,300, now, theyre back to $1,107. $116 shipping DHL Express, and $48 at the Los Angeles port, for import duties.

I would have the dealer do the install. My F82 M4 also had software that had to be upgraded

Hey brother thats very odd --- how can you validate what it is then? I see part numbers on the coils but can you dig deeper and see what it says in the small print? I wonder who really makes its as prior M perf springs were just private labeled KW's (as was stated here on the boards in the past I think).

The packaging definitely reminds me of KW but then again there are no descriptors. It matches the M perf looks of the F90 m5.

I like the fact of the EDC adjustments but also would want to see how low this set up goes.

After reading your post, I went back to look. I peeled away all of the packing labels to see what was under them, and the package, itself, originally came from Dingolfing, which is where the G82 is built, so, there is that. Then, on a smaller label, on the side of the box, was another BMW sticker with the part number.

Can't wait until they are available. I definitely may consider switching out my MSS springs for these. I hate that I wasn't patient and already have about 1900 including installed with MSS.

They are available. I have them sitting on my Kitchen table. I live in NorCal. Ordered from Germany. About the same price as KW HAS/ MSS HAS.

Just comparing the KW thread collars, in pictures, to the M Performance kit, I have on hand, there aren't anywhere near as many threads on the M Performance collars, which would clearly mean less height adjustability.

"Programming" could simply mean reinitialization of the EDC system, which is more of a service step.

I doubt that there would be a programming a specific suspension profile that is reserved for HAS.

Another thing --- since its an HAS how would EDC programming know where the car is sitting or would it just be a generic adjustment. OEM is mated with a fixed height setup as you well know.

I know you are asking the same things... Im just typing out loud.
