I'm hoping that you are correct. I have the AA catted DPs and am looking to add the Akrapovic resonated Ti mid pipe. I have a CS so i dont want to remove the axle back.

I have a clapped out Accord as well

Bought mine and found out it had a shitty mid pipe delete done by a rookie exhaust shop. Kink bends, shit welds, the works.

After spending hours watching videos and debating doing part by part of a full setup in one shot, I decided to do part by part.

Last week I put on some MAD catted DP's. The rasp is even worse (as expected). I just put in an order for a bunch of vibrant performance fab parts and an 18" high flow 3.5" resonator. Having a local buddy tig up a single mid pipe w v-bands to the OE axleback either later this week or next.

I do like the OEM axleback and want to keep it for the time being. I have the IRL valve kit and M Performance CF tips. Hoping the single mid with resonator calms down the rasp and helps!

Will post back after the midpipe is done!

Please note that titanium products have a higher-pitched sound, so if you want a deeper midrange, you would want a stainless steel single midpipe instead.

I hope you’re right.
I’m adding the AA single mid to the stock downpipes and P Merformace muffler.

Thanks, i am not looking for a lot more noise, thats what i liked about the Akropovik as it really only deletes the secondary cats.

All jokes aside I know I said single turbo. This is my current setup.
MAD Catless downpipes
AWE Track edition exhaust (resonated mid pipes)

I will keep this exhaust until I go single. I love the sound and have had many compliments. Always hard to capture the proper sound through video. But we gave it a try here.

I've been on the fence about doing anymore exhaust work, however I am team x-pipe. It doesn't sound that good on camera, but it sounds amazing in person. I like the raw sound as opposed to a glorified trumpet. I would 100% run the AA Goliath if my G80 was solely a weekend car.

I think I just convinced myself to get the AA signature mid x pipe...darn

Side note: I also hold the stock rear box sacred. Anything else and it turns it into a civic.
That's how I feel about my catless DP, and Valvetronic EL catback. I look back at my own iPhone videos, and think, wow, that's raspy.

Then, I have a buddy drive my car and it sounds exotic in person. I think catless DP and x pipe to an aftermarket axle-back would sound raw in person, I'd love to hear it.

It sounded okay to me at first, but I made the mistake of rolling the windows down and flooring in in Sport+ flaps "open." I literally busted out in laughter at myself and the fact that I spent $6K to make my car sound like a turbocharged tin can. It is so tinny and raspy that it sounds like the cars I used to make fun of as a kid. Now that car is me.

Does anyone know how to make these cars NOT sound like s*^%, or is the S58 just beyond redemption?

P.S. I have completely disabled ASD, so that is probably a contributing factor–I don't have any fake exhaust sound to drown out the actual completely terrible sound the car is making outside.
If you’re the type of customer who is chasing the ultimate smooth sound experience nothing else on the market is going to cut it like our Equal Length Full exhaust system.

i’m sure those supersprint components were not cheap. Absolutely world-class quality from them but perhaps not the ultimate sound experience.

we have roughly 15 videos on our page, showcasing all the different combinations of G80 exhaust systems. With down pipes, without, stainless, titanium, mid pipe only with down pipes. Literally every combination you can imagine is on our Youtube for you to enjoy. Let us know what sounds best and we look forward to seeing your order.

Are you tuned or planning on tuning down the road? If not, reinstall the stock downpipes and this should dramatically change the exhaust note as catless DPs are only needed if you are running higher boost.

Supersprint has been manufacturing exhausts since '55, while not cheap - you do get what you pay for, unlike the rebranded aliexpress systems widely on the market now. There's still E46 M3 Section 2s with catalysts that are functioning almost 20 years later on the used market that get snatched up as soon the minute they are up for sale, which speaks for Superprint's quality and longevity.

Feel free to PM me if you need help, as I'm not going to try to sell you things you don't need.

It produces a very exotic tone.
I’d say second in line to the throne is AWE stainless switchpath and maybe IPE.

But yea , I always laughed at the Frankenstein pipe mods. It truly does sound horrendous but everyone has different ears.

I don’t know for a fact but I suspect that legit CATTED downpipes will truly make titanium exhausts sound even more incredible.
Appreciate the R44 Titanium tip. First one I have heard that didn't sound like a fart can.

Catless always adds rasp. Put the oem cats back on and it’ll be good enough.

Of course

In a short awhile I will be pulling the trigger on AA GESI downpipes and I’ll have videos on it for whoever wants to hear.

In theory , it should take that exhaust to the next level….. hopefully

Is that the factory mid pipe with catless DPs and AWE track exhaust? Sounds great. 👏

It sounds excellent but has some rasp which is expected with catless downpipes (even if they are resonated).

So that midpipe keeps the secondary cats it seems? probably why so much of the rasp is eliminated. Sounds pretty good.

Did anyone ever figure out if they're just 100-200cell units I would assume? Probably minimal flow loss.

There really aren't any power gains with midpipes, it's more of a quick and easy way to increase volume. The secondary cats aren't really that restrictive, unless going high boost - which would eliminate most street setups, unless tuned. AWE will retain the secondary cats, Dinan also offers a resonator delete and includes a crossover with their system:

Dinan - High Flow Middle Exhaust

AWE Tuning - Non-Resonated Performance Mid Pipe

AWE keeps the secondary cats and gives you the option to delete the resonators. the sound is the cleanest I have heard on this car but might be too quiet for most. that's why I recommend pairing it with catted downpipes.
