BM3 S58 maps & options (need pix)?

Can someone with an S58 license post screenshots of the OTS Maps list, and also of the Map Config screen (any OTS map) so I can see the list of options/selections?

My S55 license had lots of choices, like for HPFP and injector size etc., so I’d like to see all the options for S58. If you could list each of the option’s drop-down choices that would really help.

Thanks for the pix!!!

Are there any “free” OTS maps like CS and GTS were for S55?

Yes you get the CS map for free also when you get the BM3 you get to pick one map pack that's included in your purchase. I chose the stage 2 map pack.

Thanks again! On the S55 we had CS and GTS to pick for free, but I guess that since the S58 CSL is more powah than the S55 GTS it’s plenty good enough. I like the free OTS for the “linear throttle” keeping daily driving easy, and running a separate custom kill tune for my dragstrip needs.

you get one OTS map of your choice for free so you don't really need the map bundle, but after your download your free map, if you try to download another one it will prompt you to enter the code.

Hm. I was able to download Stage 0 Stage 1 stage 2 with all types of fuel and multimap.

But when I go and try to look for anything other in search field … nothing other is showing up. So all what i see like on the beggining of this post is all I could see and all 3 including CS maps was downloaded from the cloud.

But I think there are other maps also or maybe I have them all aready ?

if you were able download stage 1 and stage 2 tunes then your map pack is already activated. Stage 0 maps are always free (and can be imported in the map editor as well). That's all there is for this platform.

if you look at it in the web interface it's a little more clear than on the app.

Ok. I understand. I still will be going for a custom tune next spring to also configure multimap as I want.

My idea below as Im not playing with E … at least its not my plan today :-)

1. Stage 0
2. Stage 2 daily
3. Stage 2 Drug
4. Stage 3 loud !!!!

you could probably do something like that but it doesn't work quite how you are (probably) thinking. There are over 5000 total maps exposed through the editing software which make up a complete calibration. Only around 40 of them are adjustable through map switching. Any maps that aren't covered under map switch will be global for all 4 slots in your tune. Think of it like you are not switching the entire map, you're switching a small subset of critical parameters. But it's enough to do things like target different octane levels or run different boost amounts etc per slot.

there is also only 1 flex map which applies to all the slots so if you pay for flex fuel tuning it will automatically apply to all of them.

bootmod3 lets any user play around in the map editor if you want get a better understanding, you can import your stock tune, convert it to customrom and see all of how it works behind the scenes if you're interested.

Thank you very much! Now all is clear! Appreciate education! Will need to investigate how far and which direction I will be able to go with mention by you “limitations”. Some of it I understood from Paul Tune videos where he is reccomending such a setup like daily tune vs max drug for leas frequently use etc.

Stage 1 - no downpipes needed

Stage 2 - downpipes

That’s it.

You can run both with or without downpipes. I asked Halim. Just don’t up your burbles if you have stock cats or you can cook them.

Then why do they say it’s required in their map?

Because he adjusted the settings to take advantage of the catless DPs. I run both the CSL and the Stg2 E50 on my stock cats and no probs at all.

Glad it works for you but that’s not what is recommended by the manufacturer.

It clearly states downpipes are required equipment for stage 2.

What do you expect will happen? Its simply running a bit more boost and timing, its not like that stock downpipe can't take that.

Being honest I have no idea what the stock DP can take. I’m not a tuner. I’m just using logic and allowing the tuner decide what is or isn’t required to run different stages of their tune.

My continued replies are trying to provide clarity in the answer to the below question. That’s it.

You realize that exhaust flow through wastegate timing changes is how all that works, right? Higher flow downpipes are usually required for any Stage 2 tunes because exhaust flow characteristics need to be taken into account and additional exhaust temp raises is also another side factor to contend with, but mostly it’s back pressure vs wastegate duty cycles that play a big roll on all that.
