Any updates on the PJ tune numbers?

I’m liking the process and can tell it’s faster. Still many more revisions I’m sure. Only hardware change since starting was changing the plug gaps to .022

Is it all done? Did you have a chance to gather some draggy numbers of BM3 multimap vs bm3 e-30 vs Paul Johnson flex fuel tune?

Almost, I’m on e50 now. I’ll grab them when it’s wrapped up but I can tell it’s definitely faster. The challenge is that I measured in 80° weather at first and it’s over 100° now almost every day here in TX. We’ll see though

It has been running for more than 500km, and the detection of ethanol content is very sensitive

Ethanol sensor

I did everything exactly according to the youtube video.
I started the vehicle and I could neither see the ethanol level on the steering wheel nor could I see the ethanol level on the indicators in the bm3 interface. Where could I have done wrong? Is there a setting where I need to activate this after installation?

you probably did the wrong pin. Or you need to flip around the large connector..

Are you sure the ECA is working? If its the zeitronix it should have a flashing yellow LED inside the box that you can see if you look down at the connector while running.

Just got the note from Paul that it’s dialed. Tan a 6.49 60-130 on e55. Much higher DA and full tank of gas… I’ll go out early to see what comparable DA and weight does.

Yeah this Florida summer heat and high da is killing my times as well. Generally I found 3-5am give the lowest DA and intake temps

I’ve got it timed to 5 to 6am here in Texas 😂 79° is the best I could get at 5am.

I ran a 5.77 verified in ~800 DA this morning and dragy glitched out and didn’t save the run but it’s finally cooling off this week and I already got a new rev to try so I think I can possibly do even a bit better.

57 degrees and you found a place that isn't uphill... I'm jealous LOL!
Congrats, that's a great number! Who's the tuner and what ethanol content?

Yeah I’m really happy with this, full weight stock fueling e59 on the ethanol gauge. Tuned by Bend Calibration.

That's awesome, e55 is the max power for me... I got up to e75 before stock fueling became a challenge but there was no advantage overall so I keep it between e55 and e60

yeah i keep throwing around the idea of adding Port injection just to have some extra headroom and not have to blend down but not sure if it's worth it as the car runs so great right now and i'm not really after any additional power.

Was it just street tuning or did you dyno tune? Also did Bend do the CustomROM full flex or just a Custom E50 tune only? How many corrections did they do before dialing it in? Thanks for any info. Great numbers by the way

Remote street tune, customrom flex fuel. This run I posted was on revision 18 of the tune and I already have rev 19 in the app waiting to be flashed. To be honest though the car has been feeling great and putting down solid times for many revs now, they just keep sending me updates so I keep flashing them. I can’t recommend Bend enough, I’ve had a lot of tuned cars over the years and I’ve never felt as confident with a tuner’s knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail as I do on this tune with Bend.

How long did it take for Paul to respond in between revisions?
