I did not experience any significant drone with the ER and the active autowerke axle back either

Videos with sound coming soon! Man this system just checks all the boxes for me. The low end is great and the high rev sound is immaculate. There is no mistaking this car driving down the street. What bmw did with the stock exhaust is criminal. I am very happy with this upgrade!

This past weekend I attended the road america winter autocross event. My g80 has the AA EL mid pipe and a valve controller. I figure I post here to give folks an idea how this setup sounds under load. I couldn’t be happier!

I’ve been pondering on buying the AA equal length midpipe. My current setup is: AA catted down pipes, AWE Switchpath exhaust with non-res midpipe and valve controller.

How much rasp would I be introducing by upgrading to the AA midpipe while removing the secondary cats?

Thanks for the help!

Don't think the AWE Switchpath can attach onto most other midpipes (AA included) without some sort of adapter which isn't readily available.

Correct
i tried connecting the AWE to the AA single and it did not work.

If you are choosing the AWE exhaust and you want more sound, it's best to get high-flow catted downpipes

if you don't want to replace the downpipes, i recommend you get the AA / MAD / Valvetronic midpipe + axle back instead.

Those leading pipes look super low to the ground, you sure they're positioned correctly?

I was about to say the same thing, looks like they are flip flopped.

I highly doubt I’ll do it as you really need to “Frankenstein” it to make it work. I’ll keep my hopes up either AWE or AA eventually makes an adapter 🙏🏼

Why not just go for the AA axleback? It'll definitely fit yours and it's cheaper.
