It sounds really fantastic!
It would be a even greater upgrade in Europe, where the presence of the OPFs kills the sound more and more!

Full AA setup

Here is a video of my G80 M3 running following exhaust setup:
- AA GESI Sportcats
- AA EL Midpipe
- AA Rear Silencer

I love it. Sounds so deep and no rasp. It's the perfect setup!

Huge thanks to Mike from XPH for the quick shipping and awesome communication.

The install was done in my garage on a set of ramps, 1 jack, 1 jack stand. Basic hand tools in conjunction with a sawzall was all that was needed to transform my M3 from meek to sounding like a true M car.

Hats off to Active Autowerke for releasing the perfect mid pipe for the G80 M3's.

The sound is truly unbelievable and I strongly encourage anyone on the fence to jump and buy the Active Autowerke equal length mid pipe ASAP!!

Check out my video for before and after comparisons.

great sounding great video!
have you set to open exhaust flaps 100% ?
I wonder if that flap open all the way makes a few hundred dollar mod worth getting.

Thanks! I don't have a valve controller just OEM function. A valve controller might be my next mod. Which one would you recommend?

The exhaust will definitely sound amazing, but the cold start will be quite loud.

I have tried both, and the single midpipe is a nice upgrade, as it cleans up the sound at high RPMs, eliminating any raspiness, and produces a much deeper exhaust tone in the mid-range.

On the other hand, the equal-length midpipe completely transforms the sound. It doesn't resemble the stock exhaust at all. With the valves closed, a subtle increase in volume with an added growl. When the valves are open, it delivers an aggressive sound that immediately grabs people's attention.
you think it sounds better than the awwe switchpath whole exhaust system with awe non res midpipes? been debating between aa equal length or awe full exhaust?

It's indeed a challenging decision to make. If you're sure that you won't be making any further upgrades, the AWE could potentially be a better fit for you.

However, with the equal-length midpipe, you retain the flexibility to upgrade your axle-back exhaust should you desire a more pronounced sound.

It's important to remember that the AWE, with its retention of the secondary cats in the midpipe, may not deliver as aggressive a sound increase as some enthusiasts prefer. So, it really comes down to your personal preferences and plans for your vehicle.

Would AWE track exhaust fit other brand mid pipes?

After attempting a fit with the single midpipe, it proved incompatible.

Given that the equal-length midpipe shares the same connection points as the single, it would likely be a mismatch.

After reading several mid pipe threads it seems this one has no drone and great reviews.

Anyone disagree with that? Any drone issues? I’ll keep stock exhaust before I ever drive a droning car hours on the highway again.

And I have the M Performance muffler. That shouldnt change anything??

I didn’t experience any drone with the OEM rear section or the Valvetronics unit. The Active Auto EL mid pipe provides fantastic sound & build quality.
