I have had the Dahler valve controller for 6 months. It's worth every penny. Works perfectly through the fun Canadian winter. The biggest difference is with valves open in comfort. But there's a nice sound improvement in sport plus.

It's still tame but sounds good when you code out the fake exhaust noise.

This is a decent read (not really the video). The read states that at high enough RPM/engine speed - the stock valves will open up all the way. Now, the old argument of having more torque w/ more backpressure. Well, no clue.

I would guess the turbo provides more than enough back pressure for the engine. There are also two cats. My guess is that the valve manipulation is more about sound, either compliance or control.

I have a mid pipe and I had the SST valve controller installed today and with it 100% or even 50% open, this thing is loud! Has way too much drone for me, honestly.

Have you disabled the fake sound ASD?
This makes drone itself with it on.

So the ASD is disabled. I’ll have to drive around with the 100% and 50% open and depress the exhaust button to see how it sounds. Dumb question, what does the exhaust button next to the shifter do?

With asd disabled and the sst in a, b, or d modes the button in the car will just turn burbles on and off. With the sst in c mode it will enable opening of the valves per oem control based on engine setting and throttle amount.

The IRL valve controller superb and has the option to go full open / full close or adjust the angle to your own liking.

Fellow Canadian here - where did you order the Dahler controller from & what was your total cost in CAD?

I purchased it direct from Dahler. They shipped direct and it didn't take very long to get to Toronto. It definitely wasn't the cheapest option but I still swear by my choice. No issues with it at all.

We are expecting a shipment of Dahler soon so that future orders will ship within 24 hours from our warehouse in Las Vegas.

Until then all our orders are drop shipped either from the US distributor or Dahler directly.

The software on these cars does some weird stuff with the engine idle and valves ive noticed.
What’s actually happening is that the wastegate in the turbo is opening fully to light off the catalytic converters faster. The valves at the rear of the exhaust won’t help that much unfortunately. (With the exhaust valves open it is even louder though)
