Theyre totally different also both the posches were manual. I plan to daily the m3 whereas the 911T and the spyder i was nervous to drive in snow even with winter tires because they were so light and low to the ground, especially the 718 because it was a GT division product. Porsche wins in terms of nimbleness and steering feel. However the Bmw is more usable as a daily and way faster. I wish i could have kept them all lol. The one car i really miss is the R8 that was a pure weapon

The Tartufo almost has a dark red tint to it, looks good. Same interior I picked for my BSM M3.

Great review and really helpful for me. I have a somewhat similar background (F80, 991.1 C2S, Macan GTS) and currently have a 992 C2S.
I am considering moving to a cheaper car for a few years (fiance, wedding, house). Overall the G80 sounds much more appealing to me than F80, but had a couple questions.
Not trying to sound like a BMW hater, just my honest feelings after moving to Porsche. I still appreciate what BMW offers for the price point and think G80 seems great. Other cars I'm considering are Lotus Emira and potentially CT5 Blackwing. Thanks again for the great review! |

Great review! While I didn't get an AWD G80 (6mt), I did get Skyscraper Gray and I can't wait for it to get here... was close to getting Tartufo but decided to go KO since I like the black seat centers lol

Nice Review !
I’m also noticed the power drop/lag/whatever when manual shifting in the higher rev range. Idk if that happens in all transmission modes, all the time, above what RPM, etc. Happens for sure at least sometimes though in S3 and sport plus. I’ll have to put in more seat/testing time to figure out if there’s a way around that lag. It feels like it comes off boost momentarily.

…. And for the throttle closure questions the car only closes the intake like 30-40% momentarily to regulate torque and its not noticeable while youre driving because the torque curve is table top flat (red line, pk 640 ftlb in 3rd, 620 ftlb in 5th). All you feel is the front of your brain not getting any blood lol. The only way to not get throttle modulation is to get a proper flash and increase the torque limits to 700+ but thats when u run a theoretically higher risk of breaking stuff.

They are very close unless you drive back to back you cant really notice a difference in steering feel. The rwd requires less effort but both are waaaay lighter than a gt3 for example. The biggest difference rwd and awd is what you feel through the seat in terms of rear axle information but the awd has so much more grip it doesnt even matter.

I tried to match everything - so base model with chrome pipes, bi-color wheels and no extended shadow line, leaving more body color parts.

I ran the Pilot AS on my C8 last winter and they did great - Quiet, grip like crazy... I'll be going to Costco and ordering a set of these for the M4 too. You won't regret it! |
