Just picked up a new Tanzanite M3 and getting full PPF/tint done this Monday. Can't decide between full stealth (Suntek) PPF or clear PPF on front, sills, roof. The pics on here look awesome, but I'm worried the stealth will look too 'purple'. Any other feedback/experiences? (btw loving this forum so far)

It looks more navy than purple. The stealth wrap just subdues the metallic but it makes the lines pop sooooo much. I love it and people always compliment the color especially at night. You will love it

Your pics are definitely swaying me, I went to my guy today and he put a patch on to test. In full sun, definitely still see the flake. And in shade looks nice and dark, with lines. I'm after something unique, but not TOO unique if you know what I mean. Weekend to decide....

How's the maintenance process for a stealth wrap? Can you take it through an automatic car wash?

It's a bit hard to hand wash the car in the winter when your car is covered in salt... And does salt "damage" the matte?

I’m curious the answer to these questions too.

I have not done an automatic wash but getting the ppf coated is key. But I use a diluted waterless wash kit with a iK foaming bottle to maintain it (if I can’t get the hose out at home) But it’s super easy to clean as long as the soap doesn’t have any “wax” additives… so ph neutral soap (chemical guys has a good and affordable soap too)
Dr. Beasley has a great line up of products to keep stealth finished clean with minimal effort.

It's not advised to take any PPF through an auto wash, let alone stealth.

You should be cleaning off any contaminants as soon as practically possible from the exterior to prevent things eating away at coatings or the material in general.

This honestly should apply to any car regardless of PPF or not. Automatic car washes in general cause a lot of clear-coat damage and swirls and are just inadvisable to use.

As mentioned, a pH neutral shampoo like Adam's, Chemical Guys, or CarPro Reset are good options.

Thanks! For car washes, I always stick to touchless - would that make a difference? It's nearly impossible to keep the car clean in winter due to salty roads. The car wash near me also cleans underneath of the car to remove any salt buildup

The potential problem with touchless car washes (while better) are that they use high pressure washing nozzles, and while that's not in itself a bad thing, it could be too high for the edges of the PPF and cause it to peel.

As always I'd advise not using them, but you're free to take the risk.

I’ve had the same PPF on my 2022 Land Cruiser for over a year now, and it looks as good as day one. I take it through car washes (both normal and brushless) and haven’t noticed any issues. Same with my G81.

I think a lot of it comes down to the installation. If you have a crap installer that doesn’t wrap inside the edges of doors, trims, etc. you’re at much greater risk of pealing when using an auto wash.

As for care, both my cars are far easier to car for than without the PPF. An auto wash then hand dry brings them up looking great!
