Here we go. I've "lightroomed" the pic a little bit. There is a M Badge between the seat holes. 🤗

But they are also probably messing with us - we will know in September I guess.
Let's hope so. I am really hoping it will be a more aggressive version of the evolve render.

The other one from Russia render looks like hitlers moustache and BMW I am sure do not want to be associated w that.

If the grill turns out to be too polarizing for enough people, I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with a bumper that combines the G8x M3/M4 lower section with the OEM G20 grill, and a corresponding hood that borrows the M3 styling (or perhaps a more aggressive, custom design).

One possible complication is getting the G22 (/G82/G23/G83) headlight, which could be wider than the G20 headlight, to work with the G20 grill. If that's a no-go, then said aftermarket solution would also need to be designed around and incorporate the G20 headlight as well which would obviously complicate things (and make the swap considerably more expensive too, no doubt). In particular, it is not a given that the top outside edge of the G20 headlight will properly lineup against the front edge of the G80 fender.

BMW's been good with their designs lately. I trust them with this one 100%.

I highly doubt individuals will buy a vehicle disliking the front grill so much with the intention of buying something aftermarket to make it look better. They'll just get another car.

Possibly.

However, plenty of Bimmerpost forum members (and others across the automotive community) spend thousands of dollars replacing hoods and bumpers that they do like, so it seems very plausible to me that the same type of folks would happily spend the money replacing ones that they don't like.

In fact, it isn't dissimilar from the phenomena of buying the F8x M3/M4 even though one doesn't care for the exhaust, with plans to replace it immediately with an aftermarket solution.

I don't know... I hate the stock F32 front grill with the silver surround but still bought the car, but had it removed day 1 and replaced with the M Performance part.

Granted but the plenty that you say is more like vast minority of total individuals that buy these cars.

An exhaust is one thing, which is something I always mod when I buy a car, but you can't compare that to replacing a hood or front end look. Even price wise.

Very nice!

Finally BMWs seat game is back on track. Late 80s/90s/00s all pretty generic and black.

Much much better recently (base X3 seat design in my MSport X3 not in this style league, but for me looks and support are excellent).

That "vast minority" is exactly the market that keeps aftermarket companies - and there are many of them - afloat.

But then what you do should not be confused with the behavior of the overall market. And, actually, when exhaust systems can cost as much as $5k, the price comparison is not completely out of line. Wheels are another very pricey item that people buy a car not liking, knowing they will spend thousands upgrading.

Another way to look at it: there is a 100% chance there will be aftermarket hoods and bumpers for the G80. That much is a given. My point is, if the OEM grills are disliked by enough people, at least one such bumper/hood will be designed with a different grill entirely, and the one from the G20 would make the most sense to borrow.

Anyway, thanks for your opinions, but we're not going to debate the viability of the aftermarket parts business any further in this thread.

The new X5 and the X7 seriously make all other BMWs look out dated. The large grills is working and I’m now sure they will on the G8X and 4-series as well. The 7 series LCI is hopefully an outlier in being unsightly.

Talking 4 series, is there not a single G82 mule spotted yet? With the current M3 and M4 they were launched together, seems weird that there is no M4 mule sighting yet?

I think the reason the large grills work on the x5 and x7 is because they are x models. They are much taller than the sedans and coupes, looking at those x vehicles the grill takes up a proportionally smaller area of what you see when you look at the front view of the cars. The 7 doesn't look good because of that lack of height.

I'm worried about the g80 but am planning on getting one around when the LCI comes out, so it'll give bmw time to fix it if it indeed looks horrible

The AMG performance seats are a $2500 option, S model or non. So BMW has that baseline to justify a solid gouging.

I love the look of these, but they're a mixed bag from a comfort/fit perspective. Some days they drive me crazy--the side bolsters are pretty high and hit my lats in a weird way that can be uncomfortable. The padding is pretty damn thin as well, which coupled with the stiff ride gets fatiguing at times.

For track use, they're a no brainer, but for daily, I have regrets.
