I wouldnt trust the dealer who promises to hold it for 7 weeks before its sold as he or she is going to turn around and sell it with ADM if they know u rnt gonna pick it up in 30 days which is what the contract usually says.
so I talked to my CA. it's all good for now. if the car doesn't make it, they can complete all the paperwork online and over the phone. they can't park it indoors for 7 weeks, obviously(because they don't have the *******. However, they will deliver it free via flatbed to my home. Someone can sign for it and park it into my garage for me. (considering that my home is more than a couple of hours away from the dealership, that seems like a good solution)

I suppose that they can handle all the transactions over the phone and handle the delivery without me being physically there... but I wonder if they'll charge me for 7 weeks of parking?
Talk about bad timing! You wait all that time for your baby to arrive, and then you are immediately separated for 7 weeks. I would be considering my employment options

Anybody else with Baltimore as their final destination? Just wondering if anyone has cleared VPC yet?

As usual, here's a live cam of the Donington passing
under Chesapeake Bay Bridge (Route 50) at 7:56PM
It was already too dark, but the Donington could be
seen in the upper right moving towards the bridge.

Go Navy!

unload on the weekend, yes. I've seen quite a few car carrier ships arrive on Saturday and departing on Sunday, so they must have unloaded the cars, right?

VPC processing on the weekend? Based on Google Maps activities data, nobody's inside the BMW VPC in Brunswick on Sundays at all. However, they show light activities between 9am and 12PM on Saturdays.(perhaps half-day only?) During weekdays, their work schedule appears to be 6AM-6PM.(again, according to the data that Google collected from the phones carried by employees/visitors?)

When you placed your order originally, did you add the optional upgraded expedited VPC processing?

Gotcha. Theres an expedited vpc? No idea. Im getting sideskirts and winglets added on so not sure how much time that will add on. Also not sure if CS models get priority.

I was kidding about the expedited processing!

although... BMW should offer it. For an extra $5,000,
you get your car within 30 hours after it's unloaded
from the ship... or your new BMW is free

It's still about 300 miles away. Currently just east of Wilmington, NC. I'm going to guess late tonight(Thursday) or early tomorrow morning(Friday).

Since BMW VPC doesn't seem to work on the weekend(except Saturday morning shift), processing will probably not start until Monday.

wait a minute... did they forget to unload your car at Baltimore?

(unless you're location isn't actually "Maryland")

by the way, since there's almost never any activity at those car carrier piers after 4pm Monday to Friday(based Google Maps data) I'm going to assume that they don't do car unloading after 4pm... which means the Donington will probably anchor off-shore tonight and come in tomorrow.

I live in Maryland, but I am getting it from a dealer in Tennessee. They had an allocation for one and the PPF is cheaper (Xpel) down south. Maryland the quotes were ridiculous. I will then drive it back up to Maryland. Plan on cruising the tale of the dragon also. Making a trip out of it.
