They are grabby, and for that reason I personally prefer the sport setting over the comfort setting for the break pedal feel…the comfort setting has a kind of delay when you push it….you push it and push it and to me anyways, all of sudden it just grabs….whereas with the sport setting, as soon as you push it, it grabs, and more so the more you push it.

Anybody else notice a Wi-Fi option with password in their mobile device connections settings? I have a 2022 so my understanding is WiFi and Qi charging are both not included anymore. Anybody actually try to get the WiFi in the car working?

Got Wifi going from the start. Go into the setup and link the car wit the app. All happened automatically. Try using the setup menu.

Photos? No sure what you’re seeing. There’s no WiFi hotspot in 2022 MY.

Totally agree with this. I recall reviewers on YouTube saying they couldn't tell the difference in breaking settings, but I can say Sport mode is noticeably more responsive than it is in Comfort mode.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I don't have a lot of modulation in my current car--just an abrupt transition from minimal deceleration to way too much--which sounds similar to what you describe in Comfort. Either way, I'm stepping up to a G80 but really just needed to know if I needed to opt for CCBs to get the feel I am hoping for. Sounds like I don't, which is nice.

In my opinion, absolutely not, unless you plan to regularly track your G80...the stock breaks are really amazing in sport setting, IMHO!

Well shoot, I should caveat that I do have CCBs. I'm not clear if that even matters, but worth adding just in case. I don't plan to track the car, so from what I read the CCBs should last for quite a long time. Mostly, I got them because I HATE how much break dust standard BMW breaks leave on my wheels!

CCB spares you from the horrid brake dust on the wheels or so I’ve heard. If you’re the kind of person that will spend an hour cleaning your wheels every weekend because of it, if your time is worth more than $60/hr, it may make sense to get CCB.

This was 90% of why I got CCBs and yes, there's no brake dust. I used to spend so much time cleaning my F82's wheels, and that was after ceramic coatings (spray on). This time around, I did a true ceramic coat on the wheels (gloss-coat, 2-3 year durability), and now any dirt or normal atmospheric dust just washes off.

Do you get a lot of squeaking with the CCBs? I've heard that is a downside to them

I don't think the WiFi is active. My phone does connect to it but adds a caveat that it's a low data connection and when I access the internet my phone defaults to cellular data. Seems to be more a CarPlay connection means rather than providing internet.

yup, thats for wireless carplay - no outbound internet. with everyone having unlimited LTE/5G on phones now I don't see the need for Wifi hotspots. My wife's car has it but its never used.

I did try and search for these answers, so please don't kill me if they have been covered.

1) I get a speed warning when I cross 75 mph on my HUD even though I have that off. I assume that is due to the break in period?

2) The engine has a noticeable burning smell (I have the convertible) when driven hard. Normal?

Interesting number 1. Break-in should give you any warning. For sure for sure you have it off?

Speed stuff is def a menu somewhere, not related to breakin. I dont think its in the hud menu its somewhere else.

Burning smell is normal it will fade.

Ya, there's at least a few different types of speed warnings. There's the sign recognition warning that will flash if you're over the limit, and then the over a certain set speed warning. Then the one that will continually show the limit but not flash it at you.

Check your settings on all of those, and then also check how they're set in each driver profile. If you turn them all off in one but then use another or Guest because you have the other key, they'll default to that profile setting(s).

What is this piece circled in yellow? I've noticed some M3s have them and some don't.

Is this part of some package?
