I ordered in April, still waiting for an allocation. The dealer said should get the car by the end of the year when I ordered, but at this point I'm just hoping for a production number by the end of the year lol

Sadly there is no commonality to the madness. I've seen people get allocations the day they reached out to the dealer and others (like myself) who waited 7 months for an allocation. Did you find out what place in line you are at your dealer for an allocation?

Hopefully you'll get an allocation soon, then you can be in the hurry up and wait portion of it being built/shipped lol.

YEA I learned once I found this forum there's alot of question I should have asked but just didn't know any better. I believe I am number one at my dealer, but its a low volume dealer (Nashville). I supposed M4 convertibles are the more popular car around here lol. I haven't asked my sales guy how many allocations they get or anything, it seems like he is kind of new and probably doesn't know much himself, I'd probably have to run it up to the manager to get more info but at this point I don't think it would matter, so I'm just waiting for them to reach out to me with another update.. hopefully an allocation soon!

We had first inquired in Naples there we were told 8 months delivery time and they still wanted to have 5k over the MSRP. We are then driven to Ft. Myers, 30min drive. They said and 2-3 months, for absolutely the same equipment to the MSRP. The car is now in Bremerhaven ready for shipping. If I now add 4 weeks for shipping it is 10 weeks so 2 months and 2 weeks to delivery.

It clearly depends on the dealer how long the delivery time is.

The first dealer (Naples) wanted 5k over the MSRP with a refundable down payment of 5k. The delivery time should be 6-8 months. The second dealer wanted to have a refundable deposit of 2.5k - no over payment and told us a delivery time of 3-4 months. I think both dealers are reputable, as they have been in business for over 20 years.

The whole thing surprises me very much. Are 3-4 months realistic?
I am not in a hurry, because I expected a long wait anyway. But if the car can be there in 4 months, I'm happy.

What are your experiences?
My wait is probably going to end up being a year when you factor in these port delays. Took me from December->July to get an allocation. Build week was the beginning of august, got stuck in quality check for 3 weeks now ive been at the port for almost a month.

The build slot that I acquired was supposed to be approximately week 42, but now the genius estimates week 44.

Fingers crossed.

FINALLY got a production number, and I'm now at "Order received" haha. Almost 6 months to the day after ordering. So I'm expecting 2.5 months or so from now to receive the car.

That's what I said to myself in July. I was pushed out once then was in QC for 22 days.

Day 67: With a small delay the ship is now in Brunswick. Unfortunately all docking slots were occupied this morning. 2-4 days now for unloading and customs. Maybe next week in Florida?

Just ordered a BMW M3 in Annapolis, Maryland. I am in the order bank and the SA said, "Hopefully they will pick up our allocation in the next few weeks."

How much pain am I in for?

I waited 7 months for an allocation, but I've seen others wait just a few weeks.

Best of luck that you're in the few week wait time and not months!

I called them last week asking about wait time for a G80 and was told 1-1.5 years. Good luck.
