Weird , I ordered a '22 and checked BMW tracker today and its a '23??? But the status is "dispatched from factory" ??

I checked this last week and it was being built as a '22. Now it reads '23?

So am i stuck with a '22 or '23? Wonder if i get the "payment support" but I didn't think '23s are being built yet correct?

They've already started 23 production. Your dealer should have notified you in June, it was my understanding any 22's still in the order bank by June 30th were to switchover to a 23. I'd review to make sure you're not missing any features with the 23 MY changes.

Thanks, I'll reach out tomorrow for clarification from dealer. What sucks is if its a '23, I didn't want those LCI screens in the car. Looks dumb.

doesn't look like any features got deleted, but the actual build price is gone now and hopefully its built at the same price as the '22 order we submitted.

Following. I asked my sales manager directly about this a week or so ago and she said TBD/please hold as they wait to hear back from corporate. Is it safe to say this is now an expectation and not dealer discretion? That extra money saved would put me right at the monthly payment I signed up for and budgeted.

UPDATE: sales guy replied he's never heard of this, waiting on manager.

Has anyone heard back on the price protection if your order flipped to a 2023 MY? My order flipped from '22 to '23 recently and called my CA today, He said the GM is currently looking at the deal and will let me know tomorrow about the pricing.

Kinda bummed I'm getting the new LCI screen layout but hell, I've waited long enough and the used ones are just plain expensive. But if the pricing is going off MY '23 builder, I'm not paying $100k for a M3 when original '22 build was only $89k.

The sales manager of the dealership I'm working with reached out to me today and said BMW is offering payment support but it doesn't cover the entire cost increase of my build (base price increase plus the 1.5% interest rate increase). He said he is going to go back to them and try for a little bit more. If they don't budge he said we will discuss what needs to be done to get me close to where I would have been on the '22 order.

I reached out to mine and he is not sure yet either, can you let me know if the sales manager gets back to you? We are both in Chicago so if one of us gets it we both should.

So i just heard back from my CA and dealership and they are putting place the "payment support" credit from BMW. I think CA told me like $3500 or something.

If anyone has this same situation tell the CA and dealership to call BMW to get the credit towards the 2023. Dealership i worked with said they never heard of it until they called BMW.

This is intriguing. Have a MY23 on the way and was quoted the new price when speaking with CA today. Wonder if this will be automatic coming from BMW as these cars get delivered or if we will have to pester and push.

I think it depends on if your order was a '22 and got switched over to a '23 model here in July. I would tell CA to call BMW to get the credit if this is your case.

I had respectful convo with dealer and CA and they called to find out about the price reduction with BMW.

That exactly what mine was. Got an allocation in March for a MY22, went to "scheduled" for like 1 day and spent the rest of the time in order received. Fast forward to July, it's a 23 and now at port. I'll bring this up with my CA and see what they say. Wish BMW would release something publicly on this.

Just to confirm, you are eligible if you had a 22 production number, and went to 23, right? If you were on a waitlist for an allocation, you are not eligible, correct?

Unfortunately seems to be the case. Maybe part of the reason they waited until last week for that massive allocation drop. Still think they should've made some consideration for people who were in MY'22 order banks that got flipped to MY'23. We would've bought a MY'22 car if we could've and we're stuck with MY'23 pricing just the same. Really getting annoyed with this whole process.

I believe you also had to have your production number before May 20th to qualify

Well damn, I have been waiting forever, and finally have my allocation, but would be nice if they at least gave us people waiting over 6 months SOMETHING. I get the make money, high demand, and business and the state of economy, but we all committed, so give us some form of a break. Even half. (and they pulled the $1500 military rebate for 3 series). I just took on $5250 more for a 2023.

I agree, I feel like this isn't a cheap car, and the process of not knowing when or if any allocations would come seems unorganized. Feel like there could be a approximate schedule of X allocations per month to keep everyone waiting at bay and not totally in the dark. I am thrilled to finally have an allocation, but I know the road ahead is still super bumpy. Hopefully they get more allocations rolling for everyone that has been super patiently waiting.

Thank you! Thank is what I was afraid of. Between the increase and no $1500 military rebate I am over $5K for the 23 vs the 22.

Much appreciated. Still waiting to hear back from the sales manager. CA said "not sure never heard" but the manager outright hasn't replied yet. Could be waiting on concrete info. I'll follow up. Thanks again.
