Long scratch on my new M4
After 10 months waiting finally delivered today, but there is a 10 inch long scratch from front bumper to bonnet. Any suggestions for this? If I don’t mind, how much discount should I get for this?

They offer me 3k off, waive the dealer fee and repair the paint. Also give me a coating called Luxcare. Do you think it acceptable?

I would think so... They are fixing the paint ..then giving you stuff to make things right. Just make sure they aren't upping the MF or the loan rate. |

It's going to be really person but if I was buying, I'd probably reorder if possible. If leasing to NOT keep, probably accept an adjustment.
I'm picky though. Not many body shops I trust.

Seems like they are trying to do the right thing. I wouldn’t be too thrilled that it happened but their offer seems reasonable and I’d personally take it. Although I’d probably skip the Luxcare stuff.

As far as I can tell in the photos, that is a surface abrasion that can easily be buffed out. You are super lucky to get a $3K-$4K discount for that. Take it and run!

I would agree to the offer and wait to accept delivery pending inspection/acceptance of the repair. If it can't be repaired I would not personally take the car.

If it involves any repainting, I would walk.

If you PPF the front and it will hide it after buffing, I would actually take the deal. If you will use it as a daily driver, then it is not a big deal anyways….
If they repaint the hood, I would confirm that it will match well. I had white and Black resprayed on two different cars and I couldn’t tell the difference, but other maybe can….so depends on how picky you are! |

Take the discounts and let them fix it. As long as you can't see it afterwards you're good. If you can still see a blemish keep complaining until you're happy.

$3K off sounds like a deal. That can probably be fixed with just some touch-up paint, wet sanding and polish. Don't have to repaint the entire hood nor bumper.
That would make me cry though, gotta say. But then, it's just a car, and after you get the first rock chip, it doesn't matter any more. Best of luck, let us know what you do!

A really good paint man can make it work. I've touched-up rock chips on my cars, with mixed results (because I'm incompetent). The best I ever did was on my 991.1 in Amaranth Red (metallic) and I dabbed-on the paint, put on some clear, wet sanded and polished, and even I, who knew exactly where the holes were, could not see it.
Then again, on one of my former BMWs, I sanded through the paint.
