Dear Friends,
as a newbie to M cars I have another question. When I turn with full lock (parking lot) I sometimes have the feeling as if the front wheels also had a limited slip diff, they don’t like it, kindof reminds me of the days I drove an old 4wd truck with 4wd low left engaged. Is this the case? What about the rear M Diff? Is it mostly open and only locks when needed or is it for eg. 30%-90% Lock? I also have the feeling when taking abrupt 90* turns (about 20-25mph) and giving a little gas (1500 rpm, wet surface), it makes the rear end become loose. It’s quite nice, just wanted to know if it’s a normal experience, maybe the diff lock engaging automatically? Note: I have everything on efficient and normal setting in 4wd. I’m beginning to actually enjoy the car with all its raw attitude. Fuel consumption is all over the place from hypermiling to gas guzzler mostly depending on the density of traffic. It feels like you pay not after miles driven but time spent on the road. Going on a 250mile road trip to the Black Forest on Saturday. We’ll see how my wife and kids like it. |

speaking of my car, I don't have any complaint. Loving it so far. 18 months of ownership as of today.....the more i drive it, the more I love it. To me it's a bargain for the perfomance offered.

Drove it in all Efficient modes until the break-in service.
Was impressed at how civil the ride was and not at all untamed or difficult to handle. Was even more shocked when I put it in M2 mode for the first time after the break-in service. Man, it is savage - it jumps to light speed at will and handles like a dream. |

I didn’t test drive car either, and I had only seen one iomg g80 in my local area, driving by on highway. I Thank youtube owners for my confidence in platform,
I only have 803 miles in as I write this, but I love how the car changes based on efficient, m1 modes…. I’ve yet to try m2. Mindset is relax and chill when in efficient. click that M1 button at the light before a On ramp, and all hell breaks loose, touch 1xx and and that’s with shifting before 5500 rpm’s. Torque is great everywhere, even with manual, it honestly isn’t necessary to downshift in slower zones on highway. (so long as your not gonna floor it to get back up to speed) **1-2 shift only inconsistent for me in efficient mode. ** front brakes do squeal. I already have aftermarket pads, that I’ll install after break in service Very happy. |

I guess I don’t understand why people complain about the stiff ride? You buy an M for the performance which includes a stiff ride even in “Comfort”. If you think the ride is too stiff perhaps the M340i would have been a better option. This seems to a general theme I see in all the BMW forums about all M cars.

My wife drove my M4xc for the first time yesterday (I got it last week). Her comment “this feel like a lot more build quality compared to your last car (M440xd ‘21), it feels like a totally different car!” She felt a difference at once and definitely thought it was a positive change.
Her other comment was “why are people driving so slow, I want to try the acceleration?!”. |

As a first time BMW owner as of about a month ago with a WB Hellcat Redeye (Challenger) as my prior daily driver I must say, my M4C with XDrive has absolutely impressed the hell out of me (no pun intended). My Redeye was fast and extremely powerful, but felt sluggish getting there. From a roll, it was nuts. From a dig, it was just too powerfull, and spinnin aint winnin! On a drive with twisties I always felt like the Redeye wanted to get away from me, and that I was always one slight miscalculation away from loosing it. Pure American muscle with raw power, and super fun in its own right, don’t get me wrong.
My M4C on the other hand, is just impressive. Torque, throttle response, handling (especially with XDrive)…. Just wow. Super nimble too. I still find it hard to believe the power and torque being pumped out by that inline 6. It just feels so “planted” and one with the road. Almost as if it’s on rails. I feel wayyy more confident pushing it in corners. Just amazing! My muscle car buddies are taking my switch in stride, and while I do miss my Hellcat from time to time, I am head over heals with my choice. The other thing I love is the luxury feel in addition to the power. Having previously owned a V Series Cadillac before my Hellcat Redeye, I always missed the comfort, luxury + power combination. I now have that again with my M4 and could not be happier. |

I recently bought an X5M and came from an Alfa Giulia QV. The X5M was missing the stiffness and road feel that I loved. It's been in the shop for an extended amount of time, so I ordered an M3C and will most likely trade it in when the car arrives.
The stiffness and road feel is my favorite part of driving. I don't like floating down the road. |
