UpstateM3's G80 M3 Comp in Individual Chalk
I currently own a Dravit Gray M3 but finally had the opportunity to place an individual order as set forth below. A few things I am still struggling with:
1) Should I stick with Kyalami Orange full merino or go with Silverstone or Tartufo? I love orange and have KO buckets in my current M3 so am leaning towards sticking with those, but if I did not go KO would you recommend one of the others with Chalk? Note, I am not a fan of red so I won't be going with anything red haha. 2) I think the 826m bi-color wheels go well with Chalk to give it some pop and depth versus an all black wheel, but let me know if you disagree. 3) Chalk. I love the color but also like Grigio Telesto, Nardo Grey, Lime Rock Grey, and Fashion Grey. One problem is that I have only seen Chalk (a Porsche), Nardo (an Audi), and Lime Rock Grey (an M3) in person. Frankly, this has been my most debated decision although I don't think I can go wrong with any of these. I do want a "lighter" shade of grey/white as I personally believe lighter colors contrast better with the carbon and black accent colors on the exterior. The carbon pieces blend in a little too much with my current Dravit Grey exterior. Current Specs: M3 xDrive Chalk KO full merino leather interior Blue brake calipers 826m bi-color wheels Carbon fiber interior trim Executive package Parking assistance package M shadowline lights M carbon bucket seats M carbon exterior package Laser headlights Drive recorder M drive professional |

Congrats!
1. I think KO against Chalk looks fantastic, but my #1 pick is fjord with chalk. Especially with buckets, it'd be a killer combo. I'd not do any of your other colors, unless it was fiona, but you mentioned no red. 2. Yes, bi-color all day. 3. Out of all those shades, I love chalk and fashion grey. Since you want lighter, chalk it is. All are great choices, but chalk is one of the best greys imo.

That would 100% be my top combo. As you said, pairing it with the blue calipers to have that tie it all together would be chefs kiss. Regardless of KO or fjord, both would look amazing!

Personally, I’d pair Fiona Red with Chalk.
But since you don’t want red, I’d say Fjord would be a good second choice. I wouldn’t do KO since you already have that. Nothing like feeling like you’ll have almost bought the same car again when choosing the same interior color again.

Maybe pick the closest color to Chalk on BMWUSA's configurator and take screenshots with all the interior colors, then flip through them. You'll find a favorite.
That's what I did. Ended up ordering Gray + Fjord. Charles

Thanks! Same here. Been debating whether to grab the V3 grill from NWCarbon Haus and let the dealer install that. Can’t decide. Think I’m going to hold off on adding the m performance carbon front lip until I see how low the front end sits.

I’m going to be installing the m performance lip soon. I chose it specifically because it doesn’t change the ground clearance much. I installed AST springs on the car the past weekend and it clears everything without issue.

How are the AST springs compared to stock? Driving impressions?

To me it just feels like the dampers and springs don’t match up great, it’s still a comfortable ride but the travel/rebound doesn’t feel the same and it’s noticeably stiffer on imperfect roads. I will say they don’t add any additional noise and the stance is great with them. If I were to do it again I’d go straight to coilovers, I’m likely going to move to an Ohlins setup sooner rather than later now. If you don’t care for an excessive drop I think the Eibach springs are a good choice as well, everyone says those ride like OEM. |

The frozen colors are where it’s at. A lot more than the freebie colors most folks get. This is as of late 2023. I am running Kyalami interior as well. Not a fan of BMW red interior. Last edited by Endless619; 04-25-2024 at 02:30 AM.. |

Wish the front end wasn't cut off of that last photo.

Imo can’t go wrong with the colors you stated, just pick what you like. I went with Grigio Telesto with Ivory buckets. 2nd choice for me was fashion grey…it’s different and pops as it has the sand hue. I really like fjord buckets on the greys as well. Chalk is very nice as well.
