The Turbo S may be stock. Still, the Turbo S traps around 133 mph, these G80 are trapping close to 139 mph. It make sense, but I do agree that any "stage 2" Turbo S would walk away, they trap close to 145 mph or more.

Based on the data ive seen, I dont disagree. I think it may be more driver error on his part.

This is literally hellcat territory all day with bolt ons. So now the real question is how do we get it faster than this so I can hunt down those hellcats that I use to run with???

It seems like when they both got off at the same time the 911 pulled.. felt like it was tie, even from a dig. He just has a tune and no bolt-ons. DP would give him atleast 40whp. He's probably also running corn.. so it's all really speculative not bs

It seems like (after watching again) that the Turbo S was having issues shifting. When it was a clean race the Turbo S was pulling on the G80.

Well to be fair none of the races seemed fair.. the one that seemed somewhat fair the 911 pulled. Also the m3 was quiet as a mouse. There's no way he has upgrade turbos . But whatever .

How are these ZF transmissions holding up with this performance level?

Do you need to build them at this level (DP, E85) or are they fine?

There's quite a few of us X3M guys who have been running 700hp+ E85 tunes for over 12 months and I haven't heard of any trans issues.

There was a story about a guy who broke a diff on a drag strip, but that was never confirmed.

I'm curious if any of these guys are stripping interiors for these runs, looks like they're all within spitting distance of each other. If they're all full interior, the "record" can simply be had by removing the passenger and rear seats.

He twisted up a driveshaft, I was there. It happened in November.

Glad to see it was the driveshaft and not engine/trans internals, which would likely to have a grenade-like effect

I am interested in this service, I have a few questions that I've not seen answered yet. Firstly, let's say there is a dealer update available that adds a certain functionality or addresses an issue, is that something you would apply on your end to the software and something we could update via a laptop without having to receive it from BMW directly? My second question is, is the cloning function required to run multiple maps or only if you want the convenience of map switching? In other words if we use the original DME could I have software for my pump fuel which is 92 octane here and reflash myself on the laptop to an E30 file for a track day?

ECU tuning doesnt add or remove any functionalities to the car. If theres a reflash update for the car, ill probably know before the dealer know. Most of the time, the flash updates are not important and do not need to be performed.

If you choose to tune with the original, factory ECU, you can flash it as many times as you want. You'll need a windows based laptop, an enet cable and the femto flashing software (we provide everything but the laptop). Later this month we'll have another option for flashing and it will be with a phone app. This will be a lot more convenient when switching between pump gas and ethanol tunes. We'll discuss this more after the official announcement from the tuning company.

I'm sorry if we're beating a dead horse due to my ignorance on this matter, but by saying, "...switching between pump gas and ethanol tunes.", can I assume that there is no 'true' flex-fuel capability, yet? Meaning that you just pump whatever ration of 91oct : ethanol into your tank and let your Fuel-It ethanol content analyzer and your tune determine the best setting for the S58's ECU?
