Sepia II (P9N) Individual Paint

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to order a new BMW with the individual paint colour option Sepia II (P9N) but can't find any in the UK to look at to see the colour in the flesh.
Does anyone have this colour car?

It’s a brand new color for individual, I’ve seen one M4 posted here, and an X5 (maybe it was an X3) posted on other social media. You’ll be very lucky to see one in the wild.

Woah. looks so drastically different in the sun. Like it doesn't even seem like the same color when compared to the X5 posted above

It’s definitely much darker in overcast/low light settings - much like TB. When I first saw it on the lot, it was cloudy. The car appeared to look much more gray to me. It look pretty spectacular in the sun.

I was going to repost my thread, but you beat me to it. It was a LCI ‘24 X5M at the BMW Zenturn.

Funny you say that. When I first saw it on an overcast day I thought it was Dravit. It really is a great color in the sun.

I think it has a similar gold flake over the top. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a similar makeup just with a different base. The "flop" of the paint is very similar.

I thought BMW was using another old Porsche color.

Sepia
BMW has both Sepia (in this thread) *and* Sepia Brown as available individual colors. Odd to me since "sepia" is mostly referred to as the reddish-brown variant, never seen it with this Purple/gold flake combo. Perhaps it's named after a place instead.

The Sepia Cuttlefish looks this colour a lot of the time, especially when seen underwater (see between the brown stripes).

Maybe they drew inspiration from that, but per wikipedia for the cuttlefish...

Quote:
The Greco-Roman world valued the cuttlefish as a source of the unique brown pigment the creature releases from its siphon when it is alarmed. The word for it in both Greek and Latin, sepia, now refers to the reddish-brown color sepia in English.

Maybe this paint is designed to look good with Sepia photo filters.
Sort of like Gibson's "TV White" on their guitars, which was actually yellow... but designed to look good on black & white TV.

Probably not.

Sepia Violet has been available for a while, I'm curious if Sepia II is just a renaming of the same color.

Re-naming indicates a change in the formulation.

Wow, that's an amazing color. It's like Dravit and Midnight Purple had a baby.
