What would you like to know about the SSR downpipes?

We have had a bunch of fitment issues when trying to connect to our midpipe with that downpipe specifically. Im not 100% sure if they ever updated part to fix that issue or not.
We just had a customer on the forum have to remove it and swap it with one of our downpipes to connect to his aftermarket midpipe.

Valvetronic had this one which sounds so far the most I'm attracted to.
However, this video was uploaded before they announced their EL, which means this was likely the old single midpipe design that had so many quality issues, they did mention SSR downpipe on that vehicle. I'm trying to figure out the best approach with similar sound while matching my expectation: Not raspy while high pitched and I can control the sound in a smart way To me it looks like the Valvetronic full system is worth a try because it is quiet when the valve is closed and loud when the valve is open...but I do not know what other options I can have. iPE/Remus sounds a bit like a ricer and too raspy, Eisenmann appears to be too quiet in this video from Europe, Active Autowerke sounds a bit like a Dodge when accelerating? Also no to AK (overpriced and does not sound good on G80) or MPE (I actually test drove one from BMW NA, just not interested) |

the questions you raised don't necessarily rely on the specific brand of the downpipes. these setups will produce a similar sound across any 3" downpipes. it's worth noting that there have been some complaints regarding SSR downpipes and their compatibility with aftermarket midpipes. The fitment has not always been perfect, and this has been a concern shared by several manufacturers. That said, if rasp is a concern, you should not opt for catless downpipes in my opinion. I recommend you get the catted downpipes instead for more volume and minimal rasp.

Anyone know of a 3.5inch midpipe setup similar to the AA goliath? I love the sound of that setup but would love to have the stock muffler with valve controllers still. Definitely leaning towards PSI midpipe atm

Cell count can be deceiving as a high-quality 400 CEL GESI cat, will match or even flow better than a low-quality 200 CEL cat.
It's best to first set your goal on what you are looking to get from a downpipe upgrade and if the CEL is a concern then I can recommend the best option in my opinion.

I've owned by eisenmann system (back box+ resonated midpipe) for about 2 years now. Solid sound and quality. Very throaty at low rpms.

I went with the AWE exhaust with mid pipes. No downpipes yet but I love it. It's not overly loud on the inside but sounds great. Has the valve and on the outside sounds aggressive. Love it.

its one of the best sounding exhausts, just needs a bit more tone in my opinion. An excellent pair with catted downpipes.

Seems to be a few aftermarket downpipes not fitting to that exhaust recently.
