Scratch on carbon fiber part of bucket seat
I just noticed a scratch in whatever the coating over the carbon fiber is on the back of my passenger side carbon bucket seat.
Anyone have any repair recommendations?

If it’s light, just polish it out like you would the outside of a car. It’s probably going to get scratched up again, depending on what it was… maybe someone getting in or seat belt buckle banging around, etc.

Is it a deep scratch or just like a fine surface scratch? Can you post a pic? Look for polishing compounds in the detail section of a store. If it’s not crazy deep, you should be able to maybe even polish it out by hand… just depends. I’ve polished scratches out of plastics and the clear carbon layer with car polishing products and maybe a polisher if it was a lot to cover or weren’t fine enough to waste time with elbow grease.

if it's not a huge area you're trying to repair, or the scratch is kind of deep and you're looking to fill it, you could also use a clear coat of nail polish so it retains the gloss level without requiring any equipment. Nail polish does wonders for repairing things like scratched rims in a cost effective way but most people never think to use it.
