Any takers on "Complimentary BMW track drive ..."?
RESOLVED, see 'reply' below.
LOL, after I sign up for the 2 for the price of 1 deal at Indy with my nephew, I get the above titled e-mail from BMW. Calling the number provided so far has not gotten thru (3 days, 6 calls, 3 hours on hold, twice used the 'press 1 to leave a call back and not lose your place' option only to get call backs the next day at hours when us normal left coasters sleep). Has anybody gotten thru? What is being offered? TY

it's a 2 hour event consisting of an off-road session in either the X5 or X7, then I think a round robin of vehicles on the handling section.

Based on the value listed, I was guessing it’s no more than 2 hours. Not worth the 12-hour drive to Thermal.

I'm scheduled for the SC location in May. And yes, I was informed by the booking rep that it is a 2 hour session and what calbears mentioned as part of the new owner's track experience. I'll also check out the museum and the factory tour while I'm down there.
The real upside is that I get to take the new ride on a road trip and see how it handles outside of the mundane work commute. |

Thanks all.
So a general BMW event (-), but you can take one guest and pay $299 each for additional ones (+). Thermal is a four hour boring drive for me (have to be careful between Palm Springs and Indio because the CHP works that pretty hard due to the casino traffic)(-). The events I see listed are all 8am-10am, midweek, so get up very early or add a night in a hotel (-). I will probably ask my adult step sons if any of them are interested and let that decide me.

Well this sucks.
I bought an M340 last February (2023) and I got the new owners track drive AND a one day BMW driving school (~$900 value). Fast forward to my M4 purchase in late December of 2023 and all I was offered was the new owners track drive. You’d think the real M car would come with a better track day offer, even if it’s not the full blown M track day. Lame. |

I’ve been calling since Monday along with leaving FB and Insta messages and getting zero response. Finally called my dealer. He had me call a generic number. From there the lady (who couldn’t help) then gave me an email and within an hour I finally got a person to call. What a headache

Based on their promotional email, it’s a generic offer to all new BMW owners. It was probably an experiment from their commercial guys, and they’ve probably been overwhelmed by the number of inquiries.

Yeah they must be overwhelmed. I requested a call back last week, and got the call back 5 days later, but missed the call, number from a Florida area code.

Believed resolved.
Left a call back # again yesterday and w/i two hours received a call back and was booked.
Two hours later I received a staff member follow up and today a person in BMW NA's upper management contacted me as well. I gather that I was not the first or the last customer on her call list today. My understanding is that this was a "perfect storm staffing issue" and that it is now 110% resolved. TY BMW. I hope to see some of you at Thermal tomorrow and at Indy on the 28th.
