I'm only guessing but I'd say you'll probably have to buy a new steering wheel with it already fitted, as opposed to retrofit.....but I'm only guessing so I'm sure someone more qualified than me will confirm one way or the other!

Yours is broken. My wheel heats up *a lot* and stays hot for like 30 minutes before it turns itself off, which you can then turn it back on again.

I mean, maybe you notice it less in FL but every single BMW steering wheel I've had in the past 10 years has gotten noticeably hot, not just warm.

Gotta love when the "it doesn't nothing for me, so you shouldn't bother either" crowd shows up.

My G81 is the first vehicle I've owned with steering wheel heating (though driven many cars with it over the years), and it's really nice on a colder morning.

You'd definitely need a new wheel that includes the heating element (and driver assist stuff if your car has that), as well as the trims and button. Likely the clock spring as well, then coding.

i mean.. ya for $250 (or whatever it is) its fine to add. But do you really think it makes sense to buy an entirely new steering wheel? and then have to code it after every service? and then when its time to sell it you have to tell the new owner that after every service you have to code the heated steering wheel back? if you're willing to spend thousands on a new steering wheel and install it probably makes more sense to trade it in for a car that already has it.

I understand that it may be strange to some, but it is an individual purple car with an individual interior and it has everything except that... I would like to be able to fix it... or at least know if I would be able to do it...

I have an oem heated wheel that i removed from my G80 (replaced with carismo). But do you have the OEM wiring for heated wheel? Without that it will not work.
