Buying Advice from Fellow Bimmer Owners!
Good Evening All! My last thread here was regarding my 21 G82 that was totaled by a distracted driver. I am doing a lot better as time progresses and the time has come to find a replacement. Now looking at prices I am a bit confused. I am looking at spending about 80k and have some options.
- 21/22 M8 Comp(GC/C/Cnv) Mileage obviously varying price point seems to net about 17-22k miles. -22-24 G82/G80s. Some loaded some missing some options so getting back into what I had more or less the same just looking for a "out there" color besides BG. - LC500. This is a odd option as the interior is so "old" looking and the lack of "modern" features such as 360 cameras HUD etc. is a bit boggling for a 100k plus car. - duh duh duh 911!. Sadly I am not at this level(yet ) and I cannot justify paying 80k for a 2009-2010 base 911. Any suggestions? I really did love the M4 and not sure if the M8 will really show off its weight? It is my daily driver. And mostly city driving and weekends the highway to visit family. I will most def find some time to go drive an M8 but looking for advice on steering and feeling "planted" on the road to say the least. I hate to sound cliche but I felt very connected to the road in the G82. And was a night and day difference from my 17 C63 AMG Thanks to all in advance! |

I went from F80 with competition package to F92 M8 Competition Coupe then back to G82 Competition xDrive. Initially I liked the M8, the acceleration was amazing and the luxury of it was great. But as time went by, outside of how fast it was, it just felt like a heavy lump and I got rid of it after only about 15 months. I’m almost two years into my G82 and still enjoying it, and most likely will order a new one after LCI, like 2025-26.

G80 all the way. Get a 24 or 23 if you can with laser lights as those will be discontinued with the lci in 25. M8 values tank after a 1yr so you could pick up a 21-23 M8 for around the same price as a new M4/M3. Make sure you get the bowers and Wilkins if you go M8. I personally think the M8’s interior is really dated now. Also nothing competes as you can get a manual if that is the route you want. All are great but this is the last fully combustion M3 and the last manual that bmw will ever offer.

I believe he previously mentioned he can't drive a stick as in is physically unable to drive it, not that he doesn't know how.
I am sadly in the same boat. I have a nagging left ankle injury that working a clutch perfectly aggravates. I had to sell my 991.1 7MT because of it. |
