I did not. I plan on engaging a lawyer for things like that but mostly for my protection in case she comes back with some BS….. But was pretty clear cut and dry with multiple witnesses seeing her come into my lane on a 2 lane side road.

And very blessed for walking away from it….. Prayers all around no doubt

Officer doesn’t determine fault/responsibility/liability, insurance companies do. But, hopefully the Officer wrote the other driver a ticket which very much helps in determining fault/responsibility/liability.

Also, I posted a pic of my Focus RS which was totaled on a local freeway. The steering wheel air bag broke my sternum and a few ribs. I’m glad it deployed but they can also result in injuries.

They don't determine fault, but the police report will basically tell the insurance company who was at fault. If the police report heavily favors someone at fault, the insurance company will be heavily inclined to just believe them and go with it. It's not worth nothing.

OMG, you guys need to put away the paranoia for a moment. The car worked fine, it protected the OP and sacrificed itself. Glad you are OK.

You can find a nice used G82 pretty easy, the market is really soft (AMHIK) although that may work against you in the settlement.

If you decide to move into something different, I suggest that you look at the BlackWing.

As of "what's next" for you, if you felt secure while driving your G82, I would stick with it finding out a new one to buy.

Guys, read what the poster said. The airbags went off. The steering wheel airbag didn't. That does NOT indicate a fault. The car protected him. I will admit, he worded the original post strange and then posted this in another post.

Again, perhaps worth asking BMW if there was a fault? But I doubt it. Two airbags DID fire. Unless the OP plans on hiring an automotive forensics expert to read the car's black box and look for any evidence that the vehicle tried to fire the steering wheel airbag and it did not deploy, I don't think we're going to find out.

As for the airbag situation I will just have to see how it all plays out of course. I did not want a huge discussion/argument to fire off about it. I am blessed to have walked away with hairline fractures in my spine. And heading to a ortho today for further examination fingers crossed everything is healable(?)

Was looking at some well priced Verts but…… idk I feel they ruin the shape of the car? lol have always wanted a convertible

IMO the enjoyment of a convertible if you actually will enjoy it far outweighs any detriment of added weight or slightly reduced backseat space. Having that top down and hearing the raw exhaust makes it 100% worth it.
