Seat Cushion Warranty Coverage?

Good Morning all, I am looking at a 22 M4 with only 15k miles and I pointed the following out to the seller and was curious if bmw would replace/fix this portion under warranty? Seller is taking it in on Monday to confirm. But figured I’d ask from past experience. Is this normal wear and tear on a butt cushion? Bad pants/jeans?

Any insight appreciated! And excited to join the G8x family!

That looks like someone scraped the center piece up a bit. I’m pretty sure it’s wear and tear, not warranty.

I don’t see any way that would/should be covered under warranty. That is just poorly maintained/used and abused leather. Look all around, don’t think any of the surfaces were ever cleaned much…

That’s my thought. But let’s see what they say. It’s a gorgeous Riviera Blue. And for a 22 that’s really bad lol and with only 15k miles?

I started to notice that too. My gut is telling me this color will likely show wear or dirt much easier than simply black interior. Shame

Sure, most lighter interior colors will show dirt quicker than black but this particular interior likely just hasn’t been cleaned or maintained much at all. Just look at how glossy that steering wheel is. I’d bet for the most part it can look great again with a good cleaning and leather conditioner. The only thing that likely won’t be able to bring back to new will be the scratches in the perforated leather.

The driver seat by shoulder started to rip for mine at about 15k miles and the dealer replaced the whole back portion of the seat. The shade of red is slightly lighter after they replaced it

You can hide majority of it on the seat with a leather repair kit. My kids scratched the leather in the back seat and I touched it up with the kit in the link below and I could no longer tell where the scratch was. I'd give this a shot. You can also take it to a professional to restore it.

I have several ideas how this scratching occurred, but they belong on other parts of the internet...

I think that seat would bother me way too much to justify any price, to be frank.

If it’s easily repairable, I’d have the owner get it fixed and then make the purchase.

Nothing wrong with options! Wishing you the best. Not an easy decision either way.

That just sounds like your other seats need a proper clean. This is before (bottom) and after (top) of the Tartufo leather seats in my X3, my detailer brought them back to looking brand new.
