Today was the 1st time driving my G82 to work and sure enough, there was a Subaru with green DRL tailgating me for a good 10 miles (it's a 1 lane backroad).
Right before making his turn into a donut place he flashed his high beams, I'm guessing it's a friendly gesture?
BG in overcast sky, 6:30 in the morning and still some people notice it.

It's not the kind of attention where everyone notices (like an exotic), but from those who 'know' cars.
I'm not bothered by it tbh.

I was headed to the dealer this morning to have a tire replaced and a mid-2000s Infinity G35 pulled alongside me and revved. I ignored him.

In 7 months, I've had 1 guy at a gas station say 'awesome car man' and maybe 3-5 thumbs up while driving around. Have yet to have anyone try to race me or drive overly aggressive near me. Doesn't really seem to attract a ton of attention, which tbh is what I prefer. It feels like it very easily flies under the radar, and I can just enjoy driving around without having to talk to strangers or deal with immature wannabe racers.

Had a "mob" of teenagers come over and asking about hp #s, wanted to hear the exhaust, see the engine, etc. I obliged :-). They were courteous and curious, nothing threatening.

That's about the average spec'ed price for a G8X people go for anyway.

Not many go for zero option G8X and very few max out the options to bring it to around 140k CAD.

But even at the 125k CAD, that's an entirely different bracket than 184k CAD.

Also, saying people who currently have G8X's that can't actually afford them is pure assumption. You don't know anyone's financial situation which brings me to my original point to what i was explaining earlier in that post you quoted of mine.

We're all adults. When you go to the dealer to finance or lease and sign the paperwork for the car, you are told your monthly payment. If you paid cash, you made a bold decision on whether you want to dump that one lump sum of cash into 1 car and leave yourself with zero dollars in the bank. That doesn't mean that person can't afford it, he did if he paid cash. He just took the wrong financial direction in doing so.

In the end, with how easy it is to make money, which is why so many people of the younger generation can get rich easily, it's a poor assumption to believe "most" people who hate on these cars do it because they can't afford it.

Not saying that's never true. But to say most? Yes that is definitely incorrect.

Mine was 124k CAD, 143k after taxes. These cars aren't cheap.

I’m assuming you can afford an m8 but since you said idgaf about the v8 and the car itself meaning you didn’t get that m8 for a reason. You got the m3.

That was my point.

Unless you really can’t afford an m8, then there’s a case here.
