But, I’ve done a lot of them. Last year they were still doing the radios in the car, which some folks liked quite a bit, but I prefer having the actual instructor there giving actual instruction.

The street drive was actually pretty good. They had a wide variety of cars, including an M340i. For me it was worth going to for the street drive.
Hopefully
That's good yours had sedans for street drive. Last time I went in 2021 it was all CUVs and the 2-series sedan

With the i4 I figured since I didn't enjoy the 440xi coupe, so it wasn't worth my time to auotcross an even larger and heavier version.

The i4 was surprisingly good and OMG the torque!!!!

We had in-car last year. I suspect that they had some off-course excursions, and needed to be there to keep folks under control.

I thought the 440 was pretty good for what it is (not a real M car) so you must set the bar pretty high!

Realize this is posted on the M3/M4 boards so many of you may have done the track days before. But if you have not, it is an absolute blast and I can't recommend it enough. I did it at Indy for my first time last year. Was well worth the $500.

I did a write up on my experience that got featured on the main page of Bimmerpost. In case anyone is interested about my experience or wants more details:

Is there a UK version of this? I feel left out ☹️ I’d be signing straight up if there was but I’ve searched and can’t seem to find anything.

The last year or two they introduced those smaller events that weren't quite a full UDE.

I've been to the bigger ones where they're running 3-5 courses at a time, have the X-Drive experience (which is likely what the iX experience is here), baristas and such in a "tent" (though that stopped during the pandemic), along with street drives with a good selection of cars, what ended up being an outdoor showroom of some higher end models (new M cars, M-lite cars with M perf parts, an Alpina or two), and an exclusive closed preview of a new model that didn't get announced yet if you're lucky. You could spend 2-3 hours there easily.

I did one of the new/smaller ones last year and they had 1 course, a bucket with some bottles of water, and a street drive with some "okay"/not so interesting cars.

This one had the autocross in the I4 and one other driving thing with the iX, as well as the street drives. Was ok, but you're right. The one I was at in 2021 seemed to have more stuff and better cars to drive.

For those that have done half and full days, what's the better bang for your buck? Gonna try to make the one at COTA this year for the first time if my schedule allows it

This is the standard for Chicago. Although the huge tent seems to be gone for good. They always have at least three autocrosses. It used to always be held at the now defunct Arlington Park Racecourse.

I attended one at the White Sox park in like September 2021, and they also had 3 auto-cross courses. That one was bigger than the one last year at the Sears Center or whatever it's called in Hoffman Estates.

The 440xi coupe felt too large, steering too numb, and didn't rotate like a proper RWD car would. The year prior they had the RWD M340 which was way more fun to drive (and a car I'd consider for myself if the M2 didn't exist). I'd imagine the i4s at UDE were more like the former than the latter.

I have done COTA M Track Days 3 times - 2 half says and 1 full day. The full day definitely worth it as you get more track time + skid pad.
The only problem is that they usually do only one full day per year and it gets sold out quickly.

I think UK version is invitation only now, just received this email from them last Monday.

I also attached a screenshot of space (seats) available.

When does registration open? I’m going to try to do Monticello as it’s only 2 hours away from me.

I haven't been in a few year's (metlife stadium nj) but last time for autocross they had th m340i xdrive which was a great time. Not into the 4 series or electric personally. But live that they still offer the opportunity though to enjoy these cars in a controlled environment and to play a bit whichbwe rarely get to do unless you go to a track. Fun experience.

Ahhh okay, thanks for the info! I'll have to be on top of notifications and booking it if I'm available to go. Would love to see the track firsthand since I'm an F1 fan and it was awesome seeing those cars race last October on it

I only see it listed for NY now? Does that mean the others are all sold out?

Also, can we take our own ride for M track days?

all of the events are there as registration isn't open yet.

And no, you don't take your car on the track. You take their cars, use their fuel, their brakes, etc.

Small update - BMW updated FAQ, and now we know which cars they provide this year.

M2, M3 Competition, M4 Competition, i4, iX, XM, X3 M Competition and X4 M competition

Looks like they removed M5C and M8 this year.

Also - they announced a slight increase in prices:
Half day = 650 instead of 500
Full day = 1250 instead of 1000

Is MTD worth the money, half or full? I live in Austin and the idea of driving an M4 around COTA sounds great, but wondering how much drive time you get for the $
