Got it
Exactly, but my anti-Alcantara experience came from seeing a number of Porsches like mine with Alcantara steering wheels and seats that were wearing very poorly without over-the-top preventative TLC.

Appreciate your honest and forthcoming ness. I haven’t had much alcantera so can’t say, but Ias a clean freak I would expect it to be tough

I love that Alcantara look when new, however I have seen some steering wheels where the Alcantara showed wear much sooner than leather. Also, the absorbent nature of Alcantara really collects sweat, oils, or whatever else may be on your hands.

Yep. Alcantara wheels - had one on a previous car - are basically a consumable almost no matter how ocd you are. As much as I love the material, I generally try to keep it on non-touch surfaces.

Yeah, wear is definitely something to be aware of before dropping over 1 g. When I bought my GTS at 52k miles, the alcantara was completely matted down and shiny. The seats were mostly fine. I personally wouldn’t ever get an alcantara wheel unless it’s strictly a track toy.
