Found this to be interesting from a safety perspective... the DAPP seems to score LOWER than stock safety gear in Vehicle to Pedestrian incidents for the 2019-2022 3 series?

Anybody have a North American "OEM" front license plate mount from the dealer? Looks like it would get pretty close to the ACC sensor. Adaptive cruise still function ok with a front plate?

All the aftermarket "no drill" options look like they block it (except the tow hook mounts)

The main thing deterring me is I think the front looks slightly cleaner without the sensor, however it still looks mean with the sensor included. How noticeable is it when you take a look in person?

I have it on my G82. I don't use it a ton. It works GREAT on the highway. The issue I have with it is that it gets confused in my subdivision. I live almost at the very back. It's a normal road as far as two lanes for traffic and then basically a "lane" on each side for parking. There's no lane markings, which is why I think the ACC gets confused (not using lane keeping but just ACC). If I set the ACC, I'll get some phantom braking almost every time in my subdivision. It corrects itself quickly but it's become annoying enough that I now longer use cruise control at all near my house. I'm pretty sure it gets confused with certain cars parked against the curb. My only point of comparison is that I had a 2019 RS3 and it had similar issues except it happens more in the M4. Overall, the ACC is still much better in the M4 than it was in the RS3. (RS3's forward collision system had WAY too many false alarms, about 1-2 per week, which I do not miss one bit!)

Used it this morning on my way to the office. Bumper to Bumper traffic while crossing the GWB. Felt nice to have the car drive itself while i scroll IG lol. With that being said, i don't like how the car merges lanes. Gets too close to the other cars. Gives me anxiety.

I can get over the slight cosmetic 'blemish' for the added features. I drive about 35-40 minutes each way to work, and in Houston that commute is often met with traffic. I use the assisted cruise with stop/go almost daily

I work from home and even then it's not my daily driver. I LOVE ACC and all the lane keeping and collision mitigation tech when I am with my family, but I don't need it in the G82. I'm a little pissed the windows roll up automatically when you go sideways or spin. I keep having to lower them.

I have my car now and have used DAPP and honestly there are many scenarios where it works better than Tesla autopilot

After selling my G80 and now having 0 safely features outside of BSM I can say I don't miss it at all. The 0 nagging about how close I am to the lane marking or weird random pulling when it thinks a lane is moving is great.

No regrets, I added it only bc my wife insisted but I use it far more than I expected. Adds an element of luxury and safety (do you ever have late evening/night commutes?) and can be completely turned off for spirited driving

I love it and don't look at it…the car is gorgeous in person…you don't look for things wrong or that standout, you look at the whole car and admire the work of art that it is.

The functionality is amazing and I use it all the time; no regrets whatsoever:

I have it in my current G80 but opted to not order it again for my new car. I never use it anyway, and the car looks so much better without the sensor in the grille.

Worth it for the low speed cruise control. Very handy in LA traffic.

Max speed will be 158, if you get the m professional or something with the drive school you can go 165, but you can’t get a sunroof. BMW says there is risk it will blow out >160 MPH (but I thing this is only if it’s open, but they don’t say that).

Also I have the package and it’s great! Would get it again, sensor doesn’t bother me and I can almost swear there must be something with the radar that “confuses” speed detectors.

I had a 21 Model Y. I wouldn’t have come back to BMW if the highway experience wasn’t similar and won’t get another car without it.

I had the same concerns regarding the look of it. I ended up getting it and I’m really happy I did.

Can honestly say the look didn’t bother me at all since delivery. It was just something I obsessed about when ordering and looking at pics.

Now I’m kinda vain and look at it as a badge that I spent more money lol

And from a tech perspective it’s totally worth it. Use it all the time where I live.

Great in bad traffic and long drive on freeway. Its relability goes down off the freeway. If I am distracted by something else, and not focused 100% on driving I find it adds an extra little bit of safety.

I’d be lost with it. I make 4-6 road trips of 600 miles one way per year and the minute I hit the highway DAP is on and on most of the trip. It messes up once and a while but I’m always paying attention and it’s benefits far outweigh its negatives At least for me.
