Cool parking lots/structures, etc.

Thinking I might go out on Sunday night after 9 or so and look for places to get some photos since I don't work on Monday.

All of you down south folk, enjoy your rides in the desert. Looks like mine is going to be garage bound for at least a week given the dump we're supposed to get up here (no snow tires yet)! Although, the manual e91 with snow tires is a blast in the white stuff.

I did, indeed.

I will say, I must have missed something on the spec sheet, but this unit has 560 HP rather than the expected 503 of an M3 Comp. Sales guy mentioned it was built "specially" for the Barrett Jackson show, but that sounds like BS to me.

Either way, seems to be a unique ride in that aspect, at least.

Yea… I have never heard of a G80 having 560 from the factory. I call BS too. Still a sick ride. Someone I think said they had like a 25 or 35k markup on that thing. Hopefully you got 'em for MSRP.

That sounds like a load of dealership BS to me. What does the sticker have it listed as? And do you have a dealership amendment noting the different tune comparative to the sticker?

They had the car listed initially on their site for close to MSRP and then about a week or so later it jumped all the way up to $125k. 😬

Either way, so long as awpti is happy with the car, then that is all that matters!

Was this the show car at Barrett Jackson? If so, that's interesting because I thought it was a different purple color than Twilight...it looked darker but maybe just because it was inside.

Well, as long as you are happy with the car that's all that matters.

If not, I hope you have some written documentation from them about their claims because then you could take action.

BMW didn't produce any cars specifically for Barrett Jackson, nor does the M3 produce 560bhp without any aftermarket tune and no dealer is going to put a tune on a new car these days.

At the very least it appears Chapman did drop a tune in it. Might have to find a dyno to run it on.

Which tune manufacturer did they use? I only ask because BMW has gotten very strict on flagging tuned cars when they come in for service.

EDIT: Tarek is holding fast to the claim the car is unique at least in the power output aspect. Proclaims he'll be sending me a build sheet that shows all the information I'm looking for.

I am super interested to find this out too. I'm wondering if what they are saying is a tune is the M drivers package. Which still doesn't do anything for boosting the output of hp. Just raises the top speed limiter.

Any modifications done by BMW would show on the window sticker.

If the dealership modded the car, they may have potentially voided the power train warranty if an issue comes up down the road.

For your sake, I really hope I'm wrong.

So we're about a month out from 4/2 and I figured I'd put together a rough agenda.

- Meet at The Pavilions @ 7am. We can do a quick photo shoot there (for anyone not joining us to Payson) but ideally we'll want to leave by 7:30. The address is 9120 East, Talking Stick Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85250

- Payson is about an hour and a half drive. If anyone knows a good breakfast place please recommend one and I can make a reservation. I've made this drive a few times and it's a fun trip. Not too long and the highway out there is pretty fun. We'll probably run into other cool cars from past experiences.

We should be back in the valley before noon. As more folks RSVP - I'll confirm the RSVP list in a couple of weeks with everyone

I did a quick yelp and Pinon cafe and Beeline cafe came up highly recommended. Pinon looks like they have bomb French toast… just sayin

Beeline is really, really good cafe food, but not really set up well for a larger group.
