At least in Switzerland this is an option (like almost everything is optional here) to have galvanic controls...
I opted for them, as I think it looks better and has a better feel to it, also it matches well to the other „galvanic looking" parts...

The galvanized controls are an option that each country can "play" with.
In the UK they are standard thankfully, 'cos they look great.

This is one thing that really bothered me when I sat in the G20 m340. The sides of the center console tunnel are cheap ass hard plastic and the door tops were plain soft touch with no stitched look and really drew me away from getting one. One of the main reasons I bought an m550i instead. I wonder if they will make the center console more soft touch for the G80. It doesn't need to be covered in leather, just be a soft touch material would be fine. At least the m3 can have leather stitched door tops, upper and lower dash, and knee pads.

I know the m3 is always made more plush than regular 3 series, but the only thing that kept me from an f80 m3 was the jerky dct and the lack of AWD. With those 2 things fixed with g80, i'll be onboard for a used one in the next 2-3 years. I'll enjoy my m550i in the mean time.

If you really want those and you know that they have them in Canada or UK just search for an M3 with them. Get a VIN. Then call a bmw dealership in that country get the part number and see if they will ship to USA or once you have the part number search it on google. It just may work......
