At least in Switzerland this is an option (like almost everything is optional here) to have galvanic controls...
I opted for them, as I think it looks better and has a better feel to it, also it matches well to the other „galvanic looking" parts... |

The galvanized controls are an option that each country can "play" with.

If you really want those and you know that they have them in Canada or UK just search for an M3 with them. Get a VIN. Then call a bmw dealership in that country get the part number and see if they will ship to USA or once you have the part number search it on google. It just may work......
