Exterior Vehicle Surveillance While Parked
Hi everyone, hoping to get some guidance from the community regarding what the best options are for vehicle mounted (assuming inside the vehicle) surveillance systems, to record/monitor our cars while they are parked.
I've heard of Owl Cams (https://owlcam.com/) but haven't come across much else other than typical dash cams that have the option to 'record while parked'. I'm interested in systems that will record continuously while parked (which is a common feature) but also gets a view from front, back and definitely out the side windows (as best as can be expected). The logic would be to be able to monitor incidences such as but not limited to, door dings, shopping cart offenders, vandalism, etc. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Gamin Mini Dash usb dash camera with OBD2 adapter for 24/7 recording. Super small camera. Not some ugly eye sore. 1080P. Driving mode, parking mode. You can tie 4 of them together for full 360 view.
https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-140-de...44&sr=8-4&th=1 I need to get the OBD2 power plug for mine. Right now, I have mine powered off the trunk power port. My cameras turn off 15-20 mins after I shut down my car. If I leave my car some where longer than that, I simply plug mine into a USB power block. Which is not often. I dont leave my car out of sight much at all these days.

Keep in mind having an always recording dash cam will typically throw and error that says something to the effect “Start Engine, some systems did not shut down properly”. It’s just an annoying nag but even when I set mine to shut off if the battery hits 12.5V it still came up every time.

That's exactly what came to mind. I mean, wouldn't these cameras draw very little power? I would think a high capacity Li-ion battery pack that simply charges while driving around and then once the car shuts off, it takes over, powering the cameras.
