Just saying, but there's more to cars than 0-60. I would be happy to give up a couple tenths of a second for some more steering feel and engagement, not to mention with every increase in horsepower they make it more and more difficult for RWD models to have enough traction.

there isn't even a question, the S58 comes from the factory 500hp and B48, B58 have all shown improvements in tuning potential over x55 engines.

Stage 2 tuned B48/B58s are doing 4.5s and 3.6s 0-60 respectively, I would bet my money that when Bm3 cracks the S58 is supercar territory performer with full catless dp, intake and catback exhaust.

My guess is 650bhp on stock turbos after tuning, based on seeing what the B58 supra can do tuned with a single turbo.

It's just a pure opinion without being muddied by hidden agendas and skewed senses like some people that plan to buy one and therefore have to defend their taste at all cost.

At the moment I think of them as the fake BMW enthusiast types who are addicted to IG.
My first BMW was an Alpine ‘92 325i, and as a teenager I loved that car to death. It wasn’t particularly fast, and with that rubber-like coating they used to put on the side skirts it wasn’t particularly great looking either. What I loved was the way it felt. The controls were intuitive. I could place the wheels in that little slot in speed bumps every time. I remember seeking out the nearby hills for some twisty roads for the first time. The roar from the M50 through each gear. It was a very driver-focused car, which was a new thing for me. Over time I had made some mods to it which was also a new thing for me. From the clear reflectors to the giant EEPROM computer chip that you had to actually install into the DME lol. I look back this time of my life fondly.

I think what BMW is and represents is probably different for everybody. To me, they make cars that feel a certain way. Maybe not the fastest or coolest, but theyÂ’re a pleasure to drive. I think they still do that today. I hope and assume these new MÂ’s will continue the tradition.

For the record, I donÂ’t have any social media other than this forum. I think the front end looks great. I think the front of the F80 is good looking too. I wouldnÂ’t call you a terrible person, I donÂ’t know you. Just saying there are real fans that like this design.

These controllers probably inspired the car color choice. LOL

Yes the f8x value will organically drop and it'll look dated. But at least I know I bought a car that I had fallen in love with versus forcing myself to buy a car to like it after the fact.

This makes the decision on what the next car after a f8x should be for many of us, and it's prob going to be 9-1-1.
Basically what you said

That's the problem these days, they say the G8x will surely OUT PERFORM the F8x, like it's a definitive statement.

It seems like all they are talking about is HP and TQ.
What about drivetrain dynamics? What about weight? What about size? What about chassis setup? What about steering?

Just besting the power is far from out performing the prior gen.

Exactly, I am so over these horsepower wars. Its absurd, it makes a car's limits much harder to reach and creates a scenario where most of the power is unusable on the road, and most owners will likely never exploit the capabilities on track, rendering the power almost useless. Literally people in the M5/8 forums call the RS6 "super slow," as if a two-ton wagon that can carry 5 people, their dog and luggage and still hit 0-60 in 3.5 seconds is unimpressive People are power hungry and no longer actually care about how a car takes a corner. They want to imagine that they'll actually be using all the horsepower, and be drag racing at every stoplight when in reality they'll be stuck in traffic and using 1/3 of the horsepower they have.

First thing I noticed after the grill. Why not simply make the fenders wide enough?

Many of us mean track times. The G8X power and mechanical grip advantages are very significant. Add to that AWD traction and it’s not even a fight.

the exterior yes, but interior no

to me the e92 and f82 look awesome in their own ways.

the g82 strays too much from BMWs design language. It's not just the grill that bothers me, it's pretty much the whole exterior doesn't fit with me

It'll probably be on some kind of masochist p**n website.

Google "car designer destroys entire brand" and it should come up.
