Just spoke with her and it's $5k markup. She said you'll get the car quick but I won't pay over MSRP.

I had that allocation. I paid 5k and one of our awesome forum members dropped out of his build that I took over at MSRP.

Dealers like this charging over MSRP will continue to get burned when someone comes across an allocation for no mark up.

They're not exactly getting burned, it's not like it's going to sit and rot. Will they make less? Possibly. But seems like when they show up on the lot they are getting a premium anyway.

I guess if you want to feel like you're 'sticking it to the man' then yeah...

To be fair i did see a statistic on cnbc this morning that like 85% of all new car sales the past year were above msrp. Might have been more but don't recall exactly

That's true, but the average for Ford and GM products was in the $500-800 range (above MSRP). That's obviously a whole different league than the kinds of markups we see some/many BMW dealers applying.

I tried to do a deal with them today on this, no budging on the $5k over sticker what so ever. I was willing to do a deal at $2.5k over sticker and put a deposit today but no go. When u go over the numbers with the $5k over it just makes so sense, its free money for them 🤷🏻*♂️

I was getting a prior work vehicle serviced at a kia dealership last July. They had 10k "Market adjustments" on the telluride stickers

Second hand car market has softened. These mark ups will be a thing of the past in a few months. Nothing stopping them increasing the actual MSRP which is a No brainer for manufacturer

It would be interesting to see the next MY MSRP increase by BMW. Several OEMs have done multiple price updates in the past year.

Yea part of the reason I jumped to the m4 was getting $24k for my 2014 335i and the dealer giving a deal at msrp. Wasn't even thinking of buying in late December but it all worked out in the end

It was 82 %.

I guess I'm in the 1% minority as my G83 was below MRSP at buy rate MF.
