Minor accident, replace bumper or repair?
Had a little bump at stop start traffic today. Bumper is damaged and I either need to replace or repair it. I don't know the cost of an entirely new bumper assembly plus labor but it can't be that cheap. Not sure it needs to be fully replaced either. I can take the entire front off the car myself if needs be. The car is PPF'd.
Help me out please. This has been a very frustrating weekend. View post on imgur.com |

Really depends on who you take it to and how much effort they want to put in repairing it. Is it repairable? Yes. Is it worth the time to repair versus buying a new one, hard to say.

That's nothing. Just take it to a shop and pick it up a week later. What's the big deal?

That sucks. Your fault? Get a ticket? Damage to the other vehicle? If it’s going to be reported due to any of the previous questions, might as well get it repaired/replaced by a quality shop.

I worked it out with the other driver, will not be reported to insurance. Anyways, I'm worried about my car as the other person's car will be quite inexpensive to repair and I will be covering their cost as well since I rear ended them. They were reasonable and agreed.
I just don't want it ending up on carfax because of cosmetic damage and my stupidity. I need this repaired by next Sunday, I gotta look around for a body shop I suppose. |

Fixed in a week? That will be difficult. What’s the hurry? |

Don’t worry. You can fix it pretty easy. If you watch any of the replace-your-grill vids you’ll see the steps. You’ll need the grill of your choice plus a pre-painted bumper.
I can’t find the post from the guy here who bought a bumper. Hopefully he chimes in. The link I found gets you a prepainted G8X bumper shipped to you, but the shipping cost is extra. https://www.paintedoemparts.com/prod...er-genuine-oem The bumper job on my F82 cost about $2700 at the body shop.
