Really like it. The new G80 (front end included) is growing on me day by day.

From a side view if that portion...for a car based on a series production sedan...please outline what you were expecting?

Guns?
Wings?
Invisible paint?

Maybe just wait for the reveal? I agree it does look like any other BMW Sedan from that picture but using my mind I can recall that so will every other M5 and M3 saloon released to date, the hips, wheels, exhausts M changed are all elsewhere as I'm sure you know.

No point everyone trolling just because

They do it so I have to pay for an individual color of course, but it's aggravating.

I agree 100%. If those grills looked more aggressive, and smaller. This would be a all around beautiful car.

No more teasing! Let's see it already. People are literally going to decide their next purchase based on aesthetic alone so we need to see the final product now.

It's not a striptease, it's just that this M3 generation is being tested for so long that they just ran out of camouflage material.

All BMW will share the bolt pattern with Audi, Daimler etc. to keep costs lower for the wheel manufacturer. They finally agreed to one bolt pattern.

Aside from the door handles actually aligning I wasn't expecting anything. I'm not even sure why this article is any news at all. It's literally the car in just slightly less camp, in the most boring parts of the car

I don't think I agree. Previous generation M3's/M4's could have been mistaken for a regular series car if you didn't know what to look for. This isn't going to be mistaken for a regular series car. BMW really wanted to substantiate this from the regular 3 and 4 series and it shows.

I think it is aligned, just the side character line kinda twists creating this visual illusion that it's not straight.

But yeah I love me some E9X. Beautiful clean and timeless design, and in my opinion was the right size for a 3-series.

Be careful what you wish for...they wouldn't go through all the trouble of creating a dedicated RWD sedan platform for the M2. You know it would just be the M division trying their magic with the turd that is the 2GC.
