This is all you need for a new Porsche design though.

I think the problem is you have no point. A M3/M4 can do the fast in a straight line thing very well and still outperform it's rival Alfa, MB, and Audi offerings at the track. Maybe the most well rounded performance car today. The Hellcat is a one trick pony that does one thing well and doesn't make for much of a comparison.

If people are willing to pay because they see the value in the incremental cost; Porsche will continue to charge that cost. There are people out there who have paid close to $1MM for a used 911 R only to have Porsche release a manual GT3 a short while later. The R may still be incrementally better; not sure $850K better. |

Haha this thread went to shit. Still waiting for pics from Porshuh owners unless I'm blind, missed them, or they were deleted?
I can afford a $90k M3/4. I can't afford a $130k+ Porsche. That's a big part of what this comes down to for me. The optics of a 911 in my work and social life are also not so favorable. I also happen to like the G8x for many reasons and it will probably have performance that slots ahead of a 992 base and barely just below a 992 S when it comes to the numbers. Any Porshuh owners on this BMW forum who feel the need to try to convince me that their choice is superior and mine inferior just proves how sad they are. Troll away little folk, you won't see me on a P forum. |

Im pretty sure most bmw fan boys know that the Porsche is the better driver's car, there's no denying that. But for people like me who can't afford a porsche 911, my only option is a bmw m3. Here in Canada the 911 starts at $113,000 and the m3 starts at $83,400. So i never understood the people who keep threatening to leave bmw for porsche because if i had the money, I would have went to porsche already!

Cayman GT4 costs less and doesn't suffer the horrendous depreciation of a BMW M car, so is going to get folk to migrate to Porsche. |

Brand perception is as pointless of a metric as drag racing. The only time drag racing is relevant, is when you are drag racing. How often do you do that? I gave up that silliness in my early 20's, and at that time I was perfectly happy to destroy all sports cars on the multitude of superbikes I had. There's always someone faster and stupider than you. These days I look for vehicles which I enjoy driving in the 99% of the driving situations that I do. I further look for vehicles which are reliable. For me and my criteria, that base model Carrera is the better vehicle of the two. But for what it's worth, I daily an LX570 and will soon be ordering a 911 Turbo S. |
