I am really digging the Frozen Portimao Blue.
Are the frozen colors as big a pain in the ass as suggested by 'others' online? I am not obsessive about my cars. Wash once every month or two and do not care about road war wounds. Still, for example, Hockenheim Silver on my current M2C hides all the neglect on my part very well. Not sure Frozen Portimao Blue will do the same? I live in a southern (Florida) climate. Any experienced feedback with the frozen colors? ///AVM |

I am a bit surprised. My X3M was $84,000 MSRP and this is $78,500 with similar options (X3M doesn't offer full leather).
One thing I couldn't figure out, does it come standard with the adaptive cruise control or whatever its called, where it slows you down using lidar, or is that part of the $1700 driver assist professional package (doesn't say either on standard features or that package ) looking at M340i config, it looks like its part of the $1700 package on that, so I am sure its the same and not standard Guess that puts my build over $80,000, still $4,000 less than my X3M. playing around with this in the 3D view it looks so beautiful spinning it around from the back to sides, then you go to the front!
Its like walking behind a woman (or man) with a nicely toned body, tight clothes, and then you come around to the face and look away. |

Three cost options:
- Isle of Man Green Metallic ($550) - Individual piano black interior trim ($1,080) - M Carbon bucket seats ($3,800) One non-cost option: - M Compound Brakes with Black Calipers MSRP: $76,325. I hate to say it but if the front grill wasn't such a shit show I'd be calling my salesman to place an order...but in its current state I just couldn't imagine purchasing one over a 996/997 GT3. |

Add a couple thousand for AWD and this will most likely be my configuration when my lease on my m340 ends in October 2022.

$74.5k for me... which is very reasonable pricing... i think 2 years down the line, a model like that could be had for ~$70k. This is only $10k more than my M2C... however this doesn't entice me one bit more to actually be interested in the car.

Surprised not to see a black one yet...
I really like the Alum fabric trim in shots, hoping this is a variation of the Mesh trim in my M340i. I played originally with a Silverstone interior but thought the Kyalami gave it more character. If it's too orange in RL, I'd tweak it back to Silverstone. My spec, maybe. IMHO, this car is a nosejob away from actually being a damn good looking car. In black, the crazy contrasts vanish and the Shadowline base lights basically turn it into Lord Vader's chariot. The subtle chrome from badges and tips adds just the right brightwork to break up the darkness. Will certainly be paying attention to overpriced bumper replacements!

Curious to see the real life difference on the shadowline lights option. Putting side by side pics on the configurator shows that it just darkens the upper part of the halos.

Looking back at the two cars BMW Blog saw at Monticello, this configurator might be close, though. The Frozen Brilliant White car appears to have normal lights with the Toronto Red having shadowline: https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/10/27/g...4-live-photos/

What are the considerations when deciding between stock 18/19" wheels vs 19/20" wheels? Is it just appearance and comfort? Does this affect availability of options for winter wheels/tires?

try in the configurator without laserlight and you will see a big difference. I have both laserlight and shadowline and i'm thinking to get rid of shadowlight just because it costs 440 CHF and the effect is very small.... |

I'd be curious to see the actual price difference from the parts catalog. I kind of like the idea of the 18/19 setup, but it seems they'd likely be like 200-400 less per wheel, so more of a free downgrade similar to the sunroof.

Nice to see all the color and wheel options on a pretty good looking car, minus the nose. Such a shame that the design studio thought a 'controversial' face was the way to go with this car. I just can't see car enthusiasts adjusting to it or it ever being handsome. Fortunately there will be a properly designed aftermarket nose that fixes it-mark my words. We'll probably also have every measure of poorly designed aftermarket fascias too which will not help the overall impression of this generation M3. This went over the cliff of restraint in so many ways.
Fix the nose and give us back dial gauges and you've got me BMW.
