IND | BMW M 50 Year Anniversary Heritage Roundel Set - G80 M3
The start of BMW M's 50th anniversary year sees the return of the iconic BMW Motorsport emblem and BMW M is putting down a marker for those who love tradition. The BMW logo with the offset semicircles in blue, violet and red was first used in 1973 on the racing cars of BMW Motorsport GmbH, which had been established a year before. With the debut of the BMW M1 in 1978, the three colored stripes followed, slanted to the right and leaning on the letter M. Even outside the motorsport scene, the stripes became a trademark with particularly high recognition value and identification power. The legendary BMW M1 was the only BMW M high-performance production vehicle to bear the historic motorsport emblem in addition to the logo with the three stripes. Product Details:

We only sell the OE replacement Roundels from BMW and they do not produce emblems for the steering wheel.

I wish they made them for the steering wheel. None of the cars, coming from the factory with the emblems installed, are coming with 50th steering wheel roundels. No idea why?

The BMW steering wheel roundel is not removable and is part of the airbag mechanism. Get a stick-on aftermarket piece on eBay.
One thing to consider....Some engine bays have an engine cover with the BMW roundel on top. It's rear mounting using crimped metal tabs. I haven't measured it, but a 74mm or 82mm 50th Anniversary roundel with rear adhesive/no pins would look uber cool. https://www.studie.jp/endo/126394 Cheers PS IND is expecting a BMW G80 M3 roundel shipment next week 7/25 from Germany. |

BMW G80 M3 Roundels back in stock @ IND on August 26th.
Very Funny....They have listings for the E30, E36, and E46 M3s. 51148087191 82mm (HOOD) 2 pins with perimeter adhesive But I think the older BMW E-Platform Models never used an adhesive on their BMW Roundels. So the better option is: 51148087192/193/194 2 pins/no adhesive I think if you get a 50th Anniversary Roundel with adhesive, you can remove the paper backing and let the adhesive dry out for a few hours/days. You might be able to remove the adhesive with some water or alcohol or GooGone. This will make the roundel removable after installation, if you need to swap it out in the future. I put some 50th Anniversary center wheel caps on my Estoril Blue BMW F30 335i. I call it the Tuty-Fruity Look over the original bland BMW Roundel. Still not as cool as the Gold with red/black Porsche Crest emblem. Cheers |
