Windshield replacement WITH acc/adas

Has anyone had their windshield replaced that has the extra cameras up top for acc, etc. I'm worried they're going to order me the wrong one through safelite.

Check with your dealership, I haven’t replaced mine on my M3 but past cars I called them and they have a windshield replacement company they work with. I did stop at a safelite once and I told them I wanted oem glass they never called me back.

Safelite will ask you all specs of your windshield needs, and they should call you to confirm all the options you have. I haven't had any issues with safelite replacing any windshields.

I had a similar issue when I needed the windshield replaced on my Range Rover Sport with all of the ACC/camera windshield stuff.

The solution for that was I took the car to the dealership to have the windshield replaced, they ordered the OEM part, and have someone come there to replace it, it's the best way to make sure you get OEM glass and if there is an issue the dealership *should* take responsibility.

Update. After 4 incorrect windshields sent to the location, they got it right. And did a fabulous job. Thank goodness it's over...

I have. Safe light is so incompetent. I actually spoke to GEICO made sure I got OEM and then spoke to a windshield guy who also was aware of what my car needed… he changed it no problem and it cost me $150 out of pocket. Through insurance.

The only good thing was they didn't break anything or ruin anything in the process. I'll take that as a win 😂

True. My biggest fear, taking metal tools to the dash and frame. Yikes.

Exactly. I really liked the guy who worked on it. He made sure he taped up everything before doing anything, went out of his way to do a stellar job. Gave him a nice tip as a thank you.
