There’s definitely more of a difference in rural or remote areas. The adaptive laser function still works in busy areas but it’s not as noticeable or effective due to all the streetlights and ambient lighting. Driving down back roads or country roads and encountering oncoming traffic is where you really see their magic.

There is technically coding to increase output of headlights but it doesn’t appear to work for our US cars due to power limitations to the headlights. My understanding is DRLs can only be modified by upgrading the modules as shown in the CSL style drl mod videos

Thanks for posting this because I am stuck on this very dilemma at the moment. If I make my order in the next few weeks, I am looking at potentially getting the car by April or May (MY24). Otherwise, an MY25 could be very late in 2024 or early 2025 (I want the M3 6-Speed).
I think overall I will just go with the MY24. Changes don't seem to be too dramatic. Aftermarket products can be used to change anything visual, such as headlights and taillights, if needed. |

Waiting towards the end of the run to take advantage of all the unspoken minor improvements to the car. If you've ever religiously browsed bmw-etk catalog you'll see date ranges for various parts that get changed many times throughout the life cycle of the car.
Many people get the wrong impression they build the same car part for part for the entire life cycle and that's just simply not the case. Also holding out hope there could be a S58tu2 before the end of the production run which *could* include port injection from the factory like the newest generation of B58. Pray! |

I thought about it also. I think that 8.5 will come to the 24 M3 at some point in the future as I understand it has the right hardware for it but that is me probably just telling myself that......lol. My main reason for not wanting the LCI are the headlights. I really don't like what they are doing with the new LED lights. The Lasers look so much better and the G80 looks so good already. Plus we all know there will be a price jump. It just a case of by how much. I think the base M3 will go up to $79,000 for the 25 model year JMO.

I’m kinda waiting (bought pre-owned vs ordering). Picked up a 2021 for now instead of getting a new one and actually waiting for it to come in. If the lci is an improvement, which I imagine it will be, may place an order. Also looking forward to the launch of the next m5.

If your build is week 45, you’ll most likely not see it until January. Christmas would mean it got transport to the port immediately and got on a boat as soon as it got there. Highly unlikely. Sorry to rain on your Christmas parade.

What does your build look like? I am supposed to pick up mine end of September beginning of October. I am just a little south of you in San Diego.

Using F80 as an example the 2018 LCI was awesome i loved the look. This might be the first time for me that i’ll actually like the pre LCI better. Lasers are gone for BMW. I do want to order another G80 but still debating between 24/25. Also my current spec with individual paint is over a $100k on a new g80.

On the flip side, I am avoiding the LCI on purpose.
I have found that with LCI / refreshes, BMW and Porsche always change things that are above and beyond what's published; and those things aren't always appreciated. Moreover, once a car gets to LCI status, it's pretty well dialed in "as is". So while I might have FOMO over missing a few nice upgrades, I'd rather take the bird in the hand at this point rather than wait for the LCI to go through any teething issues. I need my car now, can't wait another 18 months for production to be ramped up and teething issues to be resolved. |

I'm likely going to jump on an LCI. I was always in the "hate the design" camp on the G80, and I'm hopeful the LCI has at least a little something to help me. (And I do like the new headlights.)
Design aside, the G80 is still the best package for me. I'm not willing to pay stupid markup on a 911. The M2 doesn't make sense to me, being a smaller M4 (and it looks even worse). BMW refuses to do a Z4M (which would be the best option.) So, 2025 G80, here I come.

Waiting for a 2024 allocation. Which is estimated to come in early Jan. It's bad enough waiting for April delivery can't imagine waiting for 2025 m/y. Though I don't want it until winter is done. Going to drive it across country or at least a big loop from NY to Mount Rushmore down to New Mexico and across the south back to NY in July.
It will soon be the end of the pure ICE will trade in for 2026 or 27. The last ICE. |

I passed on a 2024 G80 allocation a few weeks ago. Waiting for the LCI. I actually like the way the new headlights looks , it's more aggressive imo. Plus I just picked up an M2 in august and still have the X3M , so more than okay waiting another 8-10 months.

Lots of week 45 cars are already on ships and should start arriving at port next week Id expect they’ll hit dealers by mid December.
