I'm the sort that always likes the latest and greatest, so I usually try to buy cars either at initial intro or at the refresh. But I decided to not to wait until next year and buy an MY24 M4.

Once they updated the M4 with the iD8 interior, I knew that there were few or no additional changes to come. I started to see the preview of iD8.5 and realized its changes were not substantive. Finally, the spy shots are only showing exterior changes limited to updated headlights, and I much prefer the pre-LCI lasers.

So what's that leave us with? A negligible horsepower bump and maybe (maybe) some new colors.

Is the LCI losing laser lights entirely like the G20?

As someone who’s opting for the 6MT, I decided to go ahead and put a deposit down for MY24. Looking at the spy shots of the LCI, the changes are only to headlights and possibly iDrive 8.5. I think I like the look of the current laser lights and also primarily use CarPlay so the slight changes to infotainment isn’t a big need for me. Additionally do not want to pay the imminent price increase for the LCI either. Assuming it goes into production July 2024 I wouldn’t be getting the car until fall or winter 2024. For me I really want the car by the summer time to enjoy it in the nice weather. I know I’m gonna love the car once I get it so I’ll be a happy camper either way.

I always prefer the updated LCI headlights and taillights but looks like this LCI we wont be getting the tail lights updated. I have 9 payments left on my F83 which coincides with the LCI model and I'll be placing it as a down payment on the G80

If you're in the States, laser lights never were coded for full functional use unless you code it yourself (I think full function was never cleared to use here, unlike in Europe). They're probably streamlining production use LED lamps so they don't need to have diff types of lamps for different markets I'm assuming..

I am planning to replace my '21 just before the warranty expires. The LCI is what they will be selling. I expect that will last MT available so it will need to last forever.

Not me. Secured an allocation this month and ordered a 24 M4C x-drive in Dakar Yellow individual, full YMB int w/ carbon buckets. I prefer the pre-LCI lasers w/ DRLs on bottom. Not concerned about the slight power bump in LCI.

Not a good reason to wait. Yes, there are rumors of new colors, but there have not been new colors introduced for an LCI with either the E9X or the F8X. Your best bet is to find something on the individual pallet if you don't like what's being offered currently.

Me neither. Based on the pictures and what's visible of the LCI, I personally prefer the laser lights. Plus, as with LCIs in the past, I'm sure the aftermarket will jump in for those who want LCI style lights.

I used Bimmer Utility. BimmerCode can’t fully code laser light functionality

Awesome thanks for the info man. I just ordered mine with the laser lights.

Is there a big difference once you code them?
